Sorry but I've heard Dallas likes Fletcher Cox but he isn't in your 1st round.

Also no Jammel Fleming or Dwight Bentley. Come on.

come on what?

I have heard nothing regarding Cox but like I said, there are some names I might have missed from media reports.

that come on is meant for jerry, not you sodog. But if you could find out if they are interested in those players. I like Cox, Fleming, and Bentley

Got ya, It would just make sense they are but might not have had the opportunity to speak with them yet.

I know Dallas was in attendance at the Mississippi St pro day but only received reports regarding Quentin Saulsberry. I would imagine they checked out Cox but did not speak with him

Dallas was obviously in attendance at the Oklahoma Pro day, reports regarding Flemming may surface as we go on.

Bentley had a great work out but I do know the Cowboys were not in attendance.

Well you do know the issues with Cox can almost be similar to Poe with the great combine.

Great combine, but his on the field doesn't match it as well. He penetrates well but doesn't hold up as well against doubles. I believe he will be a good player, especially with a team that takes advantage of his strengths which is his bull rush, but you also have to be aware of his limitations such as not really developed as a pass rusher.

It looks like one thing is for certain based on this list...the Cowboys are coming out of this draft with a pass rusher.

Yeah every year when one of these is put together you start to see trends. I think that is a pretty safe statement. :D

Much appreciation as always. I am so looking forward to the draft...can't wait. I have the free agency and march madness to keep help pass the time in March, but I need to find something to help April go by quickly...

I like a lot of the names on that list, thanks as always SDogo.

One question though, are there any specifics on Whitney Mercilus about how the team or the rest of the league feels about him that you could share with us? You seem to think he's the most likely choice for us in Round 1 as you've mocked him now twice in a row, so I'm thinking we're very high on him.

List of players the Cowboys have spoken with, scheduled for a visit or scouted (based on my own reports). I'm sure there are people I missed that have been discussed in the media, please feel free to add them and I'll update as we go.

Players in Blue represent prospects I have personally discussed with scouts directly in regards to the Cowboys. I put a little more weight into the interest based on the credibility and position of my source. With that, I'm not immune to a smoke screen either so please don't put my information on that level.

Great stuff, SD, and greatly appreciated.

I'm surprised Shea McClellin isn't on the list.

Cox and Poe are different. Cox played vs much better competition and put up good stats vs the SEC. Cox even outplayed Brockers vs the same competition

What's so awesome is that I like just about every player listed through the first 6 rounds. Some guys on this list I like that we don't really talk about:

-B. Thompson
-Billy Winn
-Trumaine Johnson
-Stephon Gilmore
-Kyle Wilber
-Cyrus Gray
-Cam Johnson
-Quentin Saulsberry (I really like this guy, versatile, tough, leader)

These are all solid, tough and talented football players. Good list.

Ok SDogo this draft tracker is genius:

1) They have no interest in Poe? They think work out warrior or you just havent heard?

2) They arent scared off by Owusu and his concussion history?

3) I am glad they like Rodriguez out of Temple had a great Pro day and is very intriguing.

4) I see they are looking for the giant NT/ run stuffer in the later from the small schools. Very interested in Kitchen and Robertson. Who do you like better?

5) Leary out Memphis. Somebody posted he vistited VR this week. Hadnt heard of him. Checked draft scout and they dont think much of him, not even a premium UDFA. What do they see in him?

6) Do they have interest in Quick out Appilachion State? Intriguing guy.

7) No longer see Akiem Hicks here. Is that because their interest revolves around Brockers? They are built alike and play a similar position?

Thanks

Oh the Safety position. Seems us fans value it much more then the Cowboys do themselves. I personally get the feeling the Cowboys will look for value at Safety in the draft meaning if someone drops they will consider it but don't look for them to make a move for one.

Small school prospect I really like is Justin Bethel from Presbyterian, SC. Typical small school prospect who needs NFL coaching but his ceiling is huge.

Keep an eye on Bradon Hardin from Oregon St, kind of big CB/FS convert. Missed all of 2011 and has fallen under the radar. Had he stayed healthy could of been a 2nd round pick in this class.

I think us fans value the Safety position more than the NFL as a whole, and even deeper than that, more than the game of football does anymore.

Well of course I know they are different, just saying their combines helped them significantly in their draft status. You do realize he had 8.5 sacks in his entire career at Mississippi State, right??

As for Brockers, can't say I'm in love with him either, but he has alot of potential in our D cause he takes on double teams well, whereas that is a weakness of Cox. Cox will penetrate more, but can be blown off the ball sometimes if doubled. Brockers just has more of an anchor and they play the game totally differently.

What would worry me about Cox is the way he plays, he needs to be more of a quick twitch athlete off the line, something he hasn't shown to this point.

I have the sneaking suspicion that if the Cowboys had their choice of any of the players on this list, they would take Brockers.

I can get behind most of the names on this list. Thanks for the work you put into this.

I just think it's early in the process. Picking at #14 you would have to assume they would do their homework on a prospect like Poe.

RS12;4467308 said:

Actually it's a major concern. I would expect his name to be called as one who is invited for a visit if they are really interested to look into it further.

Don't let the signing of Vickers fool you into thinking this kids stock took a hit for the Cowboys. He offers some flexibility and can easily assume the 3rd TE role as well as fit in as a serviceable FB. He also offers more in the pass game then Vickers.

Robertson, his ceiling is much higher and I think he is more ready to contribute now.

I'll be honest, I have no had a chance to check him out myself. I can't really add anything. I do know he was a popular guy at the Memphis workout so the Cowboys are not alone in their interest.

RS12;4467308 said:

Very raw prospect but has all the skills your looking for. Has great bloodlines as well. It may be a while before he is able to contribute. I'm not sure Dallas is looking for another developmental WR with Holmes, Radway and Williams already on the roster.

Major red flags on and off the field with Hicks.
