Cowboys coach Bill Parcells has some good advice for K Adam Vinatieri: "If he's smart, he will [stay in New England]. He could be Bobby Orr and Carl Yastrzemski and John Havlicek. That guy's done a lot."

"IF" is the key word in that sentence. Just like "IF" Jerry and Bill are smart they will try to sign this guy, and get it done without signing over the deed to the ranch.

Plus, this quote is old news anyways. I think I read on another web site where Tuna said this when word got out that Adam would test the FA market.

Yeah, this seemed like an advisory comment made prior to the start of free agency. Now that it's started, he's open game.

Interestingly, Parcells seems not to be showing any interest in his former players -- at least not yet.

That should make everybody happy. Some have taken the term "Parcells'
former players", run it into the ground and broke it off. There seems to be a feeling that some would settle for half the talent as long as they aren't Parcells' guys.

Hey, like him or not, he's truly is concerned for his players as individuals. He cares about them, and that's why they reciprocate. He wants to see them do what best for themselves, and thir families, not for BP. He seems to focus on the bigger picture, ala Jo Pa.

His gruffness is just an act.
