I suprisingly didn't see anyone mention it, but Parcells threw Romo a major bone during his PC with the Seattle Media. Something along the lines of " I think I have another one coming along that you guys are going to like in Tony Romo... He's a pretty good prospect"

Considering this board's love of the qb discussion I thought it warranted a mention. Those are pretty big words coming from BP, IMO.

I'm glad to hear that he's continue to come along and his physical tools must be deemed good enough if BP is endorsing him

I think Coach Parcells sees Romo as a Phil Simms type of QB. Lots of Moxie, enough arm to play the position and his ability to be the leader of the football team.

Maybe in 2007 or so Romo gets his shot, but for now it's the Drew Bledsoe show in Big D!

No QB on our roster has much of a chance of sniffing the field unless Bledsoe goes down to injury. The guy is playing some really good football. keep them both on the bench DB. I never in a million years thought Bledsoe would perform this well so far.

This makes me excited because we know we are going to have Bledsoe for this year and probly two more. If Romo is looking like a good prospect per Parcells this is a very good thing. Over 2 1/2 years in the system at least before he would have to be the full time starter is a lot of experience for a new qb.

You never know when Drew could go down for a couple games or the entire season, though. Romo needs to be ready now to contribute. Its good to hear the props from BP.

Drew is a pretty durable player, apart from that collapsed lung he's only missed 3 or so games in his career.

The thing I noticed in preseason was romo seemed to make the right decision quickly. He seemed to put the right velocity on the ball to get the completion. At the time bledsoe wasn't looking so good and I almost wondered if Romo should be the starter.

Don't feel bad. When I go back and look at the preseason clips (Thanks Calico), I am not surprised that he received the vote of confidence from old BP.

Drew is doing better and looks great in the pocket. He definitely gets the ball out faster than any time that I've seen in the past and he does the "Bledsoe Pat" a lot less.

Let's keep Drew upright and we should be alright. If not, I feel good about Romo and look forward to the mediots jumping on the Romo bandwagon.

All we need now if for Bledsoe to get hurt and have his starting job get taken by Romo, Who then later wins 3 Superbowls with the Dallas Cowboys.

Ok maybe I took it to far.....Sorry Drew.

Or BP could be polishing Romo's value for a post-season trade.

Great news...BP doesn't praise his QB's that much, so that is good news. To think, we got this kid for nothing !

I like Henson too, so if we end up with 2 good QB's when Bledsoe is ready to go out to pasture, we would have used a 3rd and a FA to man our QB corps...

Henson had a 7 year deal and Romo just signed an extension. Not bad when you think of the money and picks spent on the Jeff George, Ryan Leaf, David Carr, Tim Couch's..etc of the leauge.

Next years draft could be a trade down year to aquire picks. Get extra 2's and 3's where BP can get his Oline, FS, LB's...Positions that are not glamor so to speak, but nice solid players with smarts and good backgrounds.

Neato. I thought I saw some interesting flashes from Romo in last year's TC and again this past summer I saw some more. I have seen just enough of him to make me want to see more. I wonder what Henson thinks of Romo?

Didn't have to, I used Jerry's personal peephole. You have to be careful there though because you have to bend over to use it.
Jerry's face wasn't the only thing he had lifted.

not throwing cold water on it, but I believe parcells did the same thing with Henson in a conference call with Green Bay reporters last year.
Interesting comment from Parcells why would Seattle reporters like or care about anyone we have coming along?

You're right, he did, I think I have that conference on my home computer. So let's not read too much into this and just hope Romor OR Henson can come along more next season. I still think if an opportunity for a young prospect comes along, we should explore it closely.
