If we are going to hammer our own, McCarthy, Moore and Prescott, let's be fair about it.
Reid, McVay and Shanahan all made mistakes in the Champs games but let McCarthy make those same mistakes and he's a dolt and should be fired.
There were questionable play calls by every OC in all 4 games yet I don't think their fans want them all fired.
We covet and crow about Burrow and Mahomes but why don't we focus in on their bad throws and Mahomes came close to fumbling that game away in regulation and made a terrible decision at the end of the first half and Burrow had easy picks, really bad throws, dropped or he isn't Wunderkind this morning.
These guys are great QB's but even the best of them make bad throws, mistakes and do not protect the ball well enough. None of them are superhuman.
Are we really too hard on our own coaches and players? Are we on point for the mistakes and too quickly discount the good calls made and plays executed? What are we looking for?
Have we conditioned ourselves to look for these negatives and highlight them?
I am not asking these questions to start a discussion but more for all of us to do a little self-examination of how we even approach these games and seasons.
You know a good start? Purge that 26 years of futility because there were different people involved in all those years and if the Bengals can win their first playoff game in 31 years and first ever playoff road game and take down the 1 and 2 seed on their way to the Big Dance, all things are possible in the NFL. And that team has the only other owner/GM.
