QB Controversy

Nice to know that there isn't a QB controversy this season. Last year, we had to deal with Vinny and all of his short comings and the release of Quincy Carter. This year, it is quite clear where each QB stands on this team. We all know that Romo is not a starter and Henson is well, Henson.

You must not have been reading this place the last 6 months. The Romo vs Henson debate has been going on for awhile. ;)

Seriously though, I get your point. We all know who the starter is... whether we like it or not. :)

Bledsoe is our Starter and best QB on roster

Romo is clearly #2 and ready to play if called on. I'm stoked at our QB depth and team overall.

Yeah, I kind of avoided the debates between the back up QB's. Personally, I hope both of them do well, but Bledsoe is clearly the best like Nors indicated. I look forward to a good season without the distraction of the QB controversy. Thank god we don't have Vinny anymore to throw that timely 4th quarter interception. :bang2:

Romo might be ready for mop up duty...but if he has to play for more than a game or so we're sunk...

I totally disagree - kid beat out Henson - hands down. Has a good grip on running an offense. I have complete faith in him. I don't see a Turkey day half if he's thrown out there....upgrade over last year.

Parcells did, NFL network rebroadcast games and ran them live NFL channel. I saw most of it.

Heck - I get the difference between the 1st preseason game and the regular season. Romo kicked Hensons *** dude - move on - its over.

Bledsoe to run team and Romo can run this offense as he showed, maybe you missed all that?

I didnt miss anything...he's a Jason Garret type who might be a decent #3 guy or a spot #2, but I havent seen anything that indicates he'll be a frontline NFL starter, especially in a system predicated on getting the ball downfield...

he might be a better fit as a potential starter in a pure west coast type scheme where his lack of arm strength wouldnt stand out as much

my opinion, but we're royally sunk if Bledsoe misses any time, especially more than a couple games

Romo is far more advanced then Henson.

But like last year you continue to act like you know more than Parcells. Kinda laughable. Where is GROZ?

what does my thinking Romo isnt a frontline starter have to do with Henson? and when has Parcells ever declared Romo anything more than a backup? If Parcells had so much faith in Romo, why did they trade for Henson and sign Bledsoe?

GROZ is still here by the way...no more excuses for Zimmer...if he cant win with the talent he has on this D, firing is the least that should happen

Groz - dried up in the desert with Henson's hopes.

Lets move on to San Diego and the Qb's that will play, Bledsoe and Romo.

I hope only one QB plays in that game.

Why give him the satisfaction? We all know what it's about. It's about one thing, and it's not the good of the team.

ok, he beat out Henson, big deal, I like Henson alot, but beating him out doesn't mean he's ready to take over the reigns, for even a couple of games, but I do have faith in him, he can move around and knows what's going on around him, just beating out Henson doesn't prove anything...

Henson is the MUCH better long term prospect in my eyes, and this preseason hasn't changed my opinion about that one ounce. Everyone is freaking out like Henson was supposed to be starting in year 2. So he isn't ready to be the #2 yet according to Big Bill, who cares? I don't think he looked that poor in the preseason games, I just don't think he got to play much. And I saw those games. Its the same ole thing with Big Bill and Henson. Kid needs playing time, Bill says, then gives him no playing time, not even when he can do it without hurting the team. I personally think that it all comes down to this season for Henson's future. I think if Dallas struggles and Parcells leaves, Henson is the QB of this team in the future. I think if Dallas wins and Parcells stays, Henson will be traded, or cut and move on somewhere else. Either way, Drew Henson has a better chance of being a full time starter for an NFL team, LONG TERM, than Romo has, and you can take that to the bank. In the mean time, Nors and BNA and others get to celebrate what they see as a victory, and that is ok by me too. It is a part of what makes fandom fun, you get to root for a favorite player. But winning any kind of position battle, especially when you talk about a backup position, can be a short lived victory.

I can remember in 1984 when Landry named Hogeboom the starter how happy I was. I was tired of White at the time and wanted the next Staubach. At least Hogeboom had some moxy, I thought. He didn't last the whole season as starter and before you knew it was in Indianapolis, then Arizona, then who knows where.

Nors, BNA and others, enjoy it right now, but I wouldn't want to be a Romo fan in 5 years, just my opinion.

Might be an upgrade over Henson, but that's not saying much, imo...I'd still be worried to death if Romo actually had to start. Just a difference of opinion...I don't think Romo or Henson should or will ever be decent starters in the NFL. I hope I'm eventually proven wrong.

I really hope Bledsoe steps up and has a great year like he hasn't had very often in the latter part of his career, which is why he was available...rookie or no rookie in Buffalo, if Drew was playing like an upper echelon QB, he'd still be there.

I still think we've got to go out and find a future starter...I'll have to see Romo do something special in a real NFL game before changing my mind...I'm sure he'll get a shot sometime soon.

Actually, can you provide me with a quote from BP that Romo is number 2 now. I must have missed it ? I've seen reporters speak of it, but not BP. If I did miss it, then just show me the link. I don't get to read everything these days, kinda busy.

Hands down...hmmm, why did BP say he wants to name the number 2 QB by the 2nd or 3rd pre-season game...why hasn't he made it official until ?? Well has he ? I sure he will by game time this Sunday.

Hands down to me would have been naming a backup when he said he would, which he didn't.

Close your book because you want to think this QB thing is over...I disagree.
