Henson is the MUCH better long term prospect in my eyes, and this preseason hasn't changed my opinion about that one ounce. Everyone is freaking out like Henson was supposed to be starting in year 2. So he isn't ready to be the #2 yet according to Big Bill, who cares? I don't think he looked that poor in the preseason games, I just don't think he got to play much. And I saw those games. Its the same ole thing with Big Bill and Henson. Kid needs playing time, Bill says, then gives him no playing time, not even when he can do it without hurting the team. I personally think that it all comes down to this season for Henson's future. I think if Dallas struggles and Parcells leaves, Henson is the QB of this team in the future. I think if Dallas wins and Parcells stays, Henson will be traded, or cut and move on somewhere else. Either way, Drew Henson has a better chance of being a full time starter for an NFL team, LONG TERM, than Romo has, and you can take that to the bank. In the mean time, Nors and BNA and others get to celebrate what they see as a victory, and that is ok by me too. It is a part of what makes fandom fun, you get to root for a favorite player. But winning any kind of position battle, especially when you talk about a backup position, can be a short lived victory.
I can remember in 1984 when Landry named Hogeboom the starter how happy I was. I was tired of White at the time and wanted the next Staubach. At least Hogeboom had some moxy, I thought. He didn't last the whole season as starter and before you knew it was in Indianapolis, then Arizona, then who knows where.
Nors, BNA and others, enjoy it right now, but I wouldn't want to be a Romo fan in 5 years, just my opinion.
