Ok I bumped the old thread and it was illegal, so it was closed and new posts deleted.
So legally here is new thread with link to old thread, which says nobody wanted dak to start this season!
I was raked over the coals for suggesting a qb controversy, which resulted in a lot of funny gif's.
So here it is, but since it is closed you would have to comment here.

http://cowboyszone.com/threads/qb-debate-tony-or-dak-week-one.354586/

one new thing I checked into, is that the most games tony won in a row is 7 back in 2007.
He also won 6 in a row that same season. Then 6 again in 2014.
So if dak beats GB that would be 5 in a row, will he get a chance to get to 7 ??

Also I cant remember what I posted earlier, but I made this thread back in august before the seattle ps game.
I saw something in dak that made me think he was a winner, and I started wanting to see him start
for the cowboys, but knew it wouldnt happen unless tony got hurt.
Then it happened , and Dak got his chance, and has been what I thought he might be and more.

And I mean no insult to Tony who I think is still elite qb , but I think Dak has some features
Tony doesnt, and may be a better fit for this team right now.

Contrary to what Jerry and many Romo fans think, I think our SB chances are better with Dak.
Save Romo for next year, but keep going with Dak this year!

Tonite I was watching abc, and they said dak speaks out on qb controversy ! At 10 !
So I waited around for it, and dak never said anything, or any other player or coach, not even jerry !!
It was all just a lie to get people to watch.
They talked to 1 guy and 1 girl, and bob sturm gave his opinion, but It was just more hype, for what I dont know.

But I think I will be let down if they go back to Romo, with dak playing so good, I am going to lose interest I think.

I am done talking about it, at least till after the GB game, and then let it go again.

I wonder though if any QB has ever won 5 in a row and then be benched in favor of another QB ??
And yeah first dak has to beat GB, but if he does that is 5 in a row.

I think with dak they could go 13-3 which could make them top seed, depending on what minnesota does, and if we beat them
or lose to them.
If they go back to romo and wind up not the top seed,or at least 2nd seed that could impact their playoff run.
That is why if Romo comes back he cant afford to lose more than 2 games.
They really need to be top seed to have a good chance.

If Romo loses some games and then gets hurt or for whatever reason they go back to dak it would be too
late, not for playoffs, but with the seeding thing.

This is a finalist for dopey post of the year I see.

What's funny is that Dak really can't lose in this proposition, he's 23 years old and has many years left to make a name for himself. And if he heads to the bench after Sunday's game, there will be a group of fans convinced he would have single-handedly won the Super Bowl if only he hadn't been taken out, NFL history and 12 TD pass pace be darned.

Well from my perspective your post is dopey
We will see what happens when romo is inserted, and how it goes, probably hit the ol iceberg again.

DD, i had forgotten about the older post you had made....so I went back and looked through it again, i was a little surprised that i responded to it, although not in the manner most people did. at the time you posted that...there would've been zero chance Dak could've won the starting job outright, not that he didn't play well, but there was no way the organization could justify that. it is our great fortune to even have Dak on this team

So after 5 weeks into the season and knowing what we know now, I think he has earned the chance to keep starting as our QB. incidentally while scouring through all those pages i was looking for one particular poster (Gabe) for his thoughts at that time, ironically enough he never posted in that thread.

As much as I can see both sides perspective, and share a lot of the sentiments from each, is starting to settle on starting Tony. I know that folks think benching Dak while he's performing so well could affect his confidence but I don't really see that happening. He's shown to be mentally tough and level headed so I think he'd take it in stride. On the flip side, pulling him prior to a poor game or a loss allows the team to keep the mystique going. Pull him because it's been the plan all along, rather than because he faltered.

yeah I think you were the only one who responded with no criticism, and was a little pro dak.
and I knew they would never start dak with romo healthy, but my point was that they should consider starting dak .

I think Gabe started posting after he saw dak in reg season.
Dak has a presence, and a certain luck or magic with him, like the dropped ints.
Manning had that on his first SB run, it helps, where as Romo, seems to always have bad luck.

I knew Dak was a better QB than Romo before the draft and told everyone that. I am extremely familiar with his style of play and what he brings to the table. Many folks like yourself are now discovering what he is all about and I give credit to you seeing it before almost everyone here.

Pay the haters no mind. Romo will fall flat on his face like he has done his ENTIRE career. Now that the cat is out of the bag on Dak so to speak, they will be the ones who look like complete and total fools when it happens.. Notice I say when not IF.

I can go into a long and very detailed post on why Dak is a MUCH better option than Romo... But at this point the results can speak for themselves.
