I am really going to have to question your reading comprehension.

17.5 million for Peyton Manning when Aaron Rodgers has set the ceiling at 22 million is a huge difference.

I specifically said Seattle has done it the right way, minus paying Wilson elite money going forward.

Aaron Rogers cap number this season was 17.5 and 18.5 in 2015. Peyton Manning's was 17.5 this year and 21.5 in 2015.

At least you said Romo wasn't overpaid given the current market.
So you did get that part right.
Of course, they need to get a couple more very good years from him for that to hold true overall....but so far, so good.

As for the premis that you need to spend your resources everywhere else, but try to hit the jackpot with a rookie contract QB, not sure that's the way to go, though I'm sure nobody would turn it down.
Usually, the QB is not really dominant until late in his first contract or, far more likely, well after that.

It's not about hitting the jackpot with a rookie contract.

It's about getting a capable QB with a low cap value on a team that is built to succeed despite them.

It's much easier to build a team than it is to find a qb. And that generally starts on defense.

Teams like to build around the quarterback and that generally always fails. It should be the other way around.

Look at how well Carson Palmer did going to Arizona versus Oakland. Look at how well Kurt Warner did in Arizona.

Please go back and read what I said again.

When I compare Manning and Rodgers I compared their average salaries over the course of their contracts.

When I compare Manning I was looking at his 2014 salary cap versus his 2015 salary cap.

He goes from 17.5 million to 21.5 million. An increase in 4 million dollars on the year. You can't really play around with Manning's contract, so unless he takes a pay cut, that's it. That's difficult to deal with.

The reason why you have teams like the Seahawks doing so well is because they have all that extra money to work with.

Is Manning 16 million dollars better than Russell Wilson? I don't think he is.
