You are trying hard as hell to make me rethink my no putting people on ignore stance.

He isn't even a Cowboys fan. He's a Giants fan who thinks he's slick by using a NYG coach as his avatar.

So he has a vested interest in Romo and Weeden not being any good.

He just likes to sew discontent among the CZ faithful.

You don't really have to put him on ignore... you can do what I do and simply pretty much ignore what he has to say anyway.

Ahh okay so he's a Giants fan that explains why all his posts are so negative. Gonna ignore his foolishness from now on.

Romo's replacement is a high school senior or college freshman....if we're lucky.

Considering Romo's past injuries , the wise decision is to be prepared. There is a lot of young talent that will waste away if this team repeats the post- Aikman years.

I remember when everyone was getting on Jerry for the contract he gave Romo, and I the time I kept thinking, what a hugely team friendly deal this was. He definitely could have gotten more on the market if he wanted.

Already Romo is only the 10th highest paid quarterback in the league, getting paid less than the likes of Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Ryan Tannehill, Colin Kaepernick, and Jay Cutler.

Romo averages 18 million per year on his contract. Compare this to the 17 million a year Alex Smith gets. With new contracts for Luck, Wilson, RG3, Romo will likely drop at least two spots on the list, putting him closer to the middle of the pack.

The investments this team has made on the offensive line will ensure Romo remains productive where other teams will see their offenses fall apart.

We're also paying basically nothing for Weeden, who despite his struggles probably had the best year of his career last year. I don't think his growth in this system should be ignored. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys lock Weeden up to be Romo's career backup.

I felt Tony deal was fair and just when he signed it. Because he has been willing to restructure the contract to make cap room it has lead to payouts being moved down the road leading to bigger cap hits but overall Tony contract is and has been in line with what others have received

Not me, the position is too critical not to have 3 QB on the roster

I just don't think Vaughn or Weeden warrant keeping a third QB. Had we drafted Bryce Petty (wasn't in favor, just making a point), then I could rationalize that Petty isn't ready to contribute, thus we need a #2, but has enough upside that we should keep him, thus he's the #3 QB.

To me, I think any game where we have to depend on either is likely going to be a loss. Vaughn definitely has more upside than Weeden, who really has very little imo, so even if Vaughn shows enough upside to warrant keeping him, I'm not sure if I'd keep Weeden.

I have no issue with upgrading, Vaughn according to reports has made some headway how much may determine if he takes the #2 spot if that happens then I would have no issues with releasing Weeden but I would make sure to pick up a QB in place of him. I like having 3 QB on the roster in case of emergency

when? When Aikman was here you had Troy, Rodney Pete and Jason Garrett. At another point Bernie Kosar, After Aikman was gone we had a slew of QB coming and going.

have we carried more than 2 QBs since Stephen McGee was cut?

Wikipedia isn't the end all be all, but according to that, he was only on the practice squad

and was signed of our practice squad by Cleveland in November

and you claiming most season? BS, most season Dallas had had 3 QB on the roster. Having someone running plays understanding the system is important even if it is a 3rd string.

You just said a guy who attempted 41 passes last season had a career year. That should tell you something.

Weeden had one good series vs. the Commanders, and padded his stats in garbage time with a TD throw vs. INDY.

But when he was handed the keys to the car vs. Zona, he showed he was the same incompetent QB he was in Cleveland.

We didn't help him much with that game plan IMO. I am not as down as most on Weeden. I don't think he can come in and lead us to the Playoffs but I don't think he's a complete scrub either. I think if we had to roll with Weeden, we would have to change our base offense for him to see much success. JMO

...I never said most seasons in the history of the dallas cowboys, however Jason Garrett, albeit in his short head coaching career, has only once carried 3 QBs and considering the context, that is far more relevant than anything done under a previous coach. So while we certainly may carry 3 QBs this year, I don't see any reason to call BS on me saying most years we carry 2.
