If Fitzpatrick is released, should the Cowboys consider bringing him in to be the primary backup to Romo?

Orton has reportedly wavered between returning to play and retiring. Didn't Parcells used to say that if you're considering retirement, you're essentially already retired?

I'd feel better with Fitzpatrick, especially with what we saw in the Philly game. It seems like Orton has lost his confidence.

I like Fitzpatrick and what he was able to do in Buffalo and Tennessee...

That said, I'd much rather draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round who can sit behind Romo and come in if needed.

Orton counts $4.4 million against the cap, but I don't think the Cowboys save that much by cutting him. If Orton retires, I read somewhere he'll have to pay the Cowboys back $3 million. So I think it's Orton as the number 2 this year and a rookie waiting in the wings.

The Titans just signed Charlie Whitehurst to a two year deal worth up to $8 million. That is a whole lot of money for a whole lot of nothing.

Fitzpatrick has one of the weakest arms in the NFL.
