If Brees signs with NO and the Saints are looking to trade down, what's the chances that we have the inside track to trading our #1 and a #2 and maybe Ellis for the the #2 pick and a 3rd rounder.

We could use the pick to take Lienart and groom him for a year behind Bledsoe and we can move on with our lives and lose the Henson threads.

I know it's out there but Ellis would be a plus for the Sainst since they have NO depth ar DE since Howard will be gone. And they still get value for their swap.

We won't draft a quarterback as long as Parcells is here. Bledsoe would be 85 and still trying to throw the ball if Parcells stayed long enough!!

Jerry and Bill are drinking as well, over this HUGE SIGNING DAY we had. I mean come on, they had a long tough day. They worked hard. Let's give em some credit.

why would the Saints trade for a DE when they have 2 very good ones in Will Smith and Charles Grant?

Consider what NYG gave up for Eli.

That was essentially moving from 4 to 1.

Three #1's minimum.

Ellis is worth a 3 max.

There is no way we could outbid the Jets to take Leinart.

I'd take AJ Hawk in a heartbeat if we could get up there.

I would do that deal in a heart beat. I wouldn't even want their third round pick if we could get Lienart. I hope and pray that happens.

If we were able to get that pick I would go for Ferguson- solve our RT problems for the next few years then replace Hotel at left tackle.

That's 2nd overall pick is pretty valuable this year.

Bush, Leinhart, Young, Davis.

I honestly think it would take your 1st rounder the next 3 years, and a starting player.

That would make Parcells' age about 115! And just think! Our offense would be only about 60 years "behind the times"........and a whole NEW generation of "Parcells' guys" would be available! Yeeee-haw!

I say we only take a QB if one was to fall all the way to 18 for us, and only then--and that's only if it's Leinhart or Young, so slim chance to none of that happening. If we're going to trade up in the draft it has to be for someone who can come in immediately and make an impact. We're not at a point to sacrafice assests for the future, just too close to having something now to waste that much.

I'd take Cutler over either of them.

We are not drafting a QB in the 1st. Later in Day 2 is a serious possibility.

Agreed.

Charlie Whitehurst or Kellen Clemens would be my bet, with Bordie Croyle a distant 3rd.
