Not to hijack this thread..but is anyone familiar with heinz field? Is it safe to travel there?

This thread got me thinking of which games I want to go to and I think @ Pitt is my top choice

Buddy of mine is a huge steelers fan and took me to Pittsburgh for a weekend and to watch the Steelers vs Raiders. Cowboys had a early game so It worked out. I wore my Cowboys jersey around town and was constantly harassed. Which I wouldnt mind but some there really hate Dallas and thier fans. During the game itself a big brawl broke out and took some time to break up. Leaving the game people were throwing batteries at each others cars while sitting in traffic. They had Cordell Stewart back then and I still remember them chanting drop dead Cordell. Ill admit they were playing the Raiders so those fans could have had alot to do with it.

I actually loved the city of Pitt and had a blast there. The Steeler fans though.....

Saw a Boys Skins game there some years back and it was a blast! We took a cab to the game from DC and it was very convenient. Better than driving and parking on your own. I must say the pre-game tailgate scene was off the hook! I mean unlike anything I've ever seen. Huge throngs of cowboys fans partying up with Skins fans. There was one set up with a dance floor and a disco ball!?! And people were hecka groovin to dance music and the food and drink was flowing. I was frankly astonished and how awesome the energy was. That vibe carried over to the game. Even tho it's a rivalry environment the crowd is pretty controlled. Sit behind the Cowboys bench and u will see literally 10s of thousands of fellow Cowboys fans in the stands. It's a home game feel in that area.

September should be a great time of the year to visit the area as well. Weather is perfect.

I'm envious!!!! Enjoy!

I used to live near Landover, Maryland, and drive behind the street that now houses FedEx Field.

I'm sorry I never got a chance to attend a Skins-Cowboys game, though I lived there at the time when the games were held at RFK Stadium.

However, acquiring tickets for the game was nearly impossible as the Skins have a waiting list. How are you guys able to do it? Stubhub? Internet Ticket-Selling Site?

Bought tickets to the Cowboys/Skins game in September wanting to know if It's safe to wear Cowboys gear & how complicated is finding parking?

It's safe to wear Cowboys gear, but you'll be cursed at, maybe spit on depending where you sit.

The Washington, DC area is home to some of America's greatest people - polite, well-to-do, and even if not wealthy, still very cultured and generally agreeable.

Those are not the same people that go to Washington games, lol.

Parking is all around the stadium, not complicated. I would take the Metro, though. Take the blue line to Morgan Boulevard and walk the 1/2 mile to FedEx. Good exercise.

It was a few years ago but I am pretty sure it was stubhub.

I went to the Bills/Cowboys game last year and I had a hard time finding any Bills fans there.

I am in the DC metro area as well, is there a bar where you all watch Cowboys game in the DC metro area? I know there is a bar in Laurel, Md. where it is packed with Giants fans on Sunday.

I'll be in the club section with my cowboys gear. The tailgating is fine though expensive. Good natured fun.

Stadium is awful.

Parking lots are completely disgusting when it rains. It is a long walk if you take subway. We usually drive and park at a cash lot on fringes so we can avoid traffic.

I would expect the skins fans to be a little more boisterous than usual since it is early in the season and they'll have hope. That also means that the Cowboys contingent will be a little smaller.

My secretary usually sells her tickets to the highest bidder (almost always a cowboy fan), but being so early in the season she sold them to a friend who is a skin fan for less.

Enjoy!

I've seen the Cowboys play at FedEx Field three times and it's not that bad.

I only about got into a fight five or six times so it's not that bad.

Is it a day game or night game? I went to a Sunday night a few years ago, it got pretty rowdy with a couple drunk dudes giving me crap with my romo jersey. I contributed it to them tailgating since 10 am.

Went to a 1pm game, the vandergagt missed fg game. And the fans were cool, just good natured ribbing.

Being a southeast Texas guy, I've never been so cold in my life at that Sunday night game. It was like 35 degrees, wind, fog, mist. From like noon to 10pm. Ugh
