Why over 40? I'm 21 and remember that play... *shrugs*

Yes I believe we will.

you do not remember it live, no way. You remember seeing it on highlights.

To the first poster, yes we will, or at least I have to tell myself that or else why watch? Nah, I would watch even if I were told we would never win again.

Yes.

Next question.

I think we will. My feeling is I tend to appreciate how hard it is to win championships after a period of down time. We want winners every year but in sports disappointment and elations go hand in hand

No, because you are getting old and you will have to be careful to mind your blood pressure when it comes around again.

Hope you enjoyed it the first time, though! ;)

You get wiser as you get older and learn to have better control over your emotions. This team has some hurdles to overcome but I see us a lot closer today than the days of 5-11

I doubt I'll ever feel that way again.

That catch validated the Cowboys as THE class of the league and you knew that they were going to be the class of the league for as long as this team could stay together. We watched the team hit rock bottom then methodically work its way to the top. That catch said "we are here and we're not going anywhere".

The NFL won't allow that same sort of success story any more. Now teams turn around (both directions) in a year with a different cast of characters from year to year.

I'm sure the Cowboys will win more championships but I doubt there will be a play that says as much as that catch said to me.

I'll never feel the same way I did that day. It was and will remain the high point of my spectator sport life.

I think most of us fans over 40 feel right now like we did when Jackie Smith dropped the sure TD pass in the SB. So much hope only to see it dashed by a fluke play, a huge failure by an otherwise HoF player. That's how this season felt to me, so much potential for greatness but the players failed when it counted most.

After the failure of 2007 when we were easily the 2nd best team in the league I was sure that 2008 would be our year. Alas, it was not meant to be. The players showed no heart down the stretch, again, and the season ended with 2 huge runs in our final game at Texas Stadium. The last pathetic performance against the Eagles was just the aftermath of those two runs.

Those of us old enough to remember the "Ice Bowl" and the back-to-back failures against the Browns and the agony of losing to the Colts after finally making to the SB know what it is like to have your heart ripped out by this team. We also remember what it is like to see them triumph and crush the Dolphins to win our first SB, the first of many! That's what gives us hope, year after year.

I am close to 40 but I do not see it with the current clown of a HC

I mean I remember watching Randy White at the ripe old age of 8 I even had a football card of him and Dorsett. I mean we flagged down the Local Police cars in our neighborhood and asked for a Dallas Card and they gave them to us. (No this was not in the Dallas area)

I mean how cool was that when you are a kid.

I am 33 and I still have a Drew Pearson card from the Police. Kiwanis sponsored this.

and yes that was really cool. I remember playing football in the street and stopping for cars going through. When it was a cop, they would stop and give us cards!!

The good ole days!
