Question for the Ipone/Itouch gurus

I got a problem and cant figure it out.

So I download a bunch of music off of limewire.

I stick all the music in one folder. The folder is called mix 1.

When I take Mix 1 and drag it into my itunes it makes several folders instead of grouping them all under the folder Mix 1.

Any idea how to get all of my music in just one folder instead of spread out?

I'm not exactly sure what you want but you can try making a new playlist(itunes) than dragging your folder over. otherwise drag them over 1 by 1

putting it into itunes, it automatically will put it in its own folders becauses it is set up to to do so, that way your music is more organized

Thats not what I want.

You know when you turn your Iphone/Itouch sideways and it shows it all in one folder?

Say if I had JAy Z the Blue Album. If I drag it over it all stays together and I can just add my album art and call it a day.

If I drag "Mix 1" over that has nothing but limewire singles in it then it doesnt organize it. Each song is getting its own individual folder in the Album section.

I want all the songs in 1 folder.

Is it a properties issue?

Perhaps uncheck "Have Itunes automatically configure my music and folders" and manually do that yourself. Something to that effect in iTunes.

what ya would do is goto...
(these are folders)

itunes--->itunes music---> make a new folder--->*find folders of music downloaded* then click and drag to said new folder and the problem is solved

I am not sure exactly what you are doing.
But here is what works for me flawlessly.


Turn off auto sync if its on.

Take all of your downloaded songs and place them in NEW folder - call it NEW Songs 1

In iTunes
go to

File
> Add Folder to Library
choose the New Songs 1 folder

This will place the folders contents in the iTunes>Library>Music section

Once you have done this
highlight all the songs and drag them to your iTouch

This should work. If not then maybe you need to change the info for the songs album/artist/genre etc...

your music folder on your hard drive,

i think its, my comp--->users--->*Catch17's user name*-->my music--->itunes--->itunes music--->ta da where there

on a mac, you'd click your user name on the left side of the Finder then music and your there

Yomick, How do I turn off auto sync?

The kid 05, so your saying just drag the music to the "itunes music" folder?

IF so I did that and it didnt work.

I just want a folder saying Mix 1 to pop up with the rest of my albums on my itouch. I dont understand why I cant just drag the folder to my itunes and then its there like all of the other.

I appreciate the help guys and im going to continue to try and figure this out.

Connect your iTouch to PC

click on your iTouch in iTunes
check "manually manage music and videos"

then follow the steps I posted for you

Ok I finally got it to work. This is the only thing that would for me and I stumbled upon it trying what yomick told me.

Once I get the music in the library. Right click, Go to Click info, Then put every song under the album title "mix 1".

It put them all in the same folder by doing that.
