WHY?

Does our starting QB, after playing the entire game; being hit; running in the pocket; then in the 4th qtr; drives us for the winning score opportunity; THEN has to hold for the FG?

NOTE TO COACHES: ROMO just might be a little TIRED! :bang2:

Philly brought Koy Detmer off the street last week to hold for FG's!

Is our coaching staff a little--well......STUPID?

I better not see ROMO holding next year!

because Bedsloe can't get the grasp of having to do backup work, i think even when he lost his job in ne/buff he didn't hold the ball...so maybe it really just is him?

Who says a QB has to be the holder? Novacek was our holder while Jimmy was at the helm.

This question was hashed over in yesterday's Fox pregame panel (Jimmah, Howie, Terry) discussion, where they openly questioned the Cowboys' decision on a starting QB as holder. Some lessons learned, maybe.

LOL. I can't believe people are complaining about Romo being a holder. This is the first hold I recall him ever dropping. Not only that, he's a threat for a fake field goal as well.

It seems like people are just sheep when it comes to complaining about things. I mean, who cares whether the Fox broadcast crew questioned it? When was the last time they even complained about Romo holding? Never.

Romo botched the hold but it was the only one all year. He's been doing it for a while now and hasn't botched one til now.

Ofcourse, I have said all along that the guy holding should be McBriar.

Thank you for saving me the keystrokes. ;)

I'm wondering why you'd want anyone other than a QB handling the snaps, purely for the reasoning of he's the guy that handles the ball more than any other player, and for the threat of the fake, as you mentioned.

Face it, better yet, GET OVER IT, ROMO *** UP, it HAPPENS! It's SPORTS, and he's a HUMAN. It's PART OF IT!! geeeeezusss!!! [/rant] :D

He did it perfectly the past 77 times. So get over it. Not a coaches fault.

A fluke play at a bad time.

What? This is total crap. He did it perfectly 77 times in a row. One mistake and he is mentally weak.

Somebody is confused.

I really am not second guessing it at all, but I think Crayton would be the perfect holer.

He has great hands and was once a QB so if you wanted to do a fake he would be perfect.

Next year it will be somebody else I bet.

Regardless, I've questioned the decision to have him holding kicks since he took over as starter. Yes, there's the risk of a fake, but there's also the risk of injury. There's a reason no other team has their starting QB as the holder.

Really, when was the last time a holder suffered an injury holding? I defy you to even find ONE, and I'll let you go back as far as 10-20 years.

I could understand sticking with Romo as the holder if Vanderjagt was still the kicker but it seems like when they signed Gramatica they had the perfect opportunity to make a switch to someone else. I dont buy into the theory that he was tired etc. he simply made a mistake.

I have no idea. Does that mean there isn't a risk?
