were some questions (beginning of TC, at least) whether he could run well inside, or was he basically an outside type of runner.

For those who watched this last game, what did you think? Does he run with authority inside?

As BP says, in certain circumstances a 1 ar 2 yard run can be a good run. I was looking at Thompson's stats, and he had a few short runs before the last drive. Was he running hard on those runs?

I'm really rooting for this kid, and I hope he sticks around for a long time.

Iwas impressed!! On his second TD, he ran into the pile at the 1 and just kept driving his way into the endaone!

Don't be TOO impressed. He'll be 3rd string. He's not the end all and won't be our savior.

He'll barely get on the field unless it's returning kicks.

I disagree. Parcells is a little too excited about this guy's ability to let him sit. He may not play a lot but he'll see some time behind JJ and ATrain.

i agree T2 will get a nice share of the load - he caught 3 passes in the game also so don't discount him being used in any number of packages. the kid will now be instructed in the finer points of being an NFL RB, and i think he has a bright future. BP wanted a change-up back, and he has A-train for size and T2 for speed. nice to have!

Run a Split Back formation with JJ and TT.
Send JJ through the gaps between the Tackles and send TT full speed around the edges.
They'll never know where the run is going.

Damn kick the guy why don't you. He earned his spot on this team and granted he may not get many opportunities but he did not win the job by default he produced every time he hit the field at RB. I like Barber but a RB is worthless if he is fumbling the ball. Hopefully Barber can make it to the PS but as for getting the job done Thompson did just that. I should add when he stayed in to block he did a good job with that as well.

Thompson seemed to hit the pile harder last night but one thing he needs to work on is to keep the legs driving which he hardly seems to do in any of the preseason games. He doesn't have alot of experience in college so it's something which can be learned.
