I am by no means rooting for an 0-4 finish but thinking ahead... what is better for the future of the team... finishing 3-1, making the playoffs as a wild card and being eliminated in round 1 and picking 25 or so next april OR going 0-4, no playoffs and picking 15 or so........

I'll take "out" of the playoffs.

We'd be better today had we not made the playoffs in 2003.

I was thinking the exact same thing. We need a franchise Quarterback for the future. I believe that we need to get a Quarterback in THIS draft so that Bledsoe can work as a mentor for the new player. That would help alot.

I don't think this is a playoff caliber team at present although it is better than the 2003 team. Offensively we are just plain bad - this is mostly due to the OL. We need improved play at every position on the OL.

I don't really think it matters too much whether we make the playoffs because we won't do much even if we make it there. We'd be better served missing the playoffs and not becoming complacent about the weakness on the team like we did after the 2003 season.

I hate that line of thinking....

There is no guarantee with a top 15 pick either.

Let's just let it play out.

Last year, I felt this way. What's keeping me from that kind of thinking this time around is that the defense can step it up just a little and be SCARY good.

If the Cowboys select as well as they did last year, very little value is gained by moving up.

Playoff experience for all the rookies we have now is much more important. And they're getting a pressure game nearly every week!

Get to the playoffs, we have been in every game this year and who says we can't upset a few teams in the playoffs.

I'll tell you after next week.

Next weeks game is really the deciding factor. Win and I want a playoff run, lose and it's time to start thinking draft.

I don't understand why anyone would wish for the Cowboys to be out of the playoffs. There isn't any team in the NFC that Dallas can't beat.

They played like crap and only lost to the best team in the NFC based on record thanks to Cortez and a Bledsoe brain cramp.

The Bears are all smoke and mirrors. Dallas split with the Giants. And we'll find out how they matchup with Carolina in a few weeks.

What if someone upsets Indianapolis in the AFC playoffs? Denver or San Diego are both beatable in the Super Bowl.

Damn 2003 team!!! When we need to suck we don't. Hey let's root for the team to tank and maybe we get to do next year what we should have done last year.

:D

You guys need to become Cardinals fans if that is your attitude. Would it have been better for the '91 team to miss the playoffs? This team needs to keep making progress and gain playoff experience. We have a young defense that is keeping us in every game. If we fix the offensive line next year we can go far.

and how do you know we can't make it to the superbowl? we have been in EVERY SINGLE game, regardless of if we played great or poor.

Why are the colts so untouchable? the post-season is a completly different season afterall. How do you know we don't win though the playoffs and Manning gets hurt. or James get's hurt.

You guys are pathetic. Seriously, this board gives up EVERY SINGLE time we lose. 80% of this board don't seem like Cowboys fans to me.

No kidding. I realize that people are frustrated, but some of them need to find some Bengals fans and ask them how they liked the 90's. Missing the playoffs and getting a high draft pick is no guarantee of success.

The best thing for the future of this team is to go back to last year and put some of the kids in and see if they can play in this league or not. Last year = wasted year. Since we can't do that, just play to win and let the chips fall where they may. Making smart picks after round 2 or 3 will more than make up for drafting a few spots higher if you lose. Signing the right free agents is more important than drafting a few spots higher if you lose.
