Quick observations from Thursday game

I like this post. Our Defense held them and not making excuses but at the end of the half the refs or the clock guy game them a few seconds. Our Offense made to many mistakes. 2 fumbles in a close game will cost you.
yup and our defense was left out there on the field A TON. That's saying something against that high powered offense. To hold THAT team to just 12 points on their own turf is special. Saints scored plenty up in Seattle. I am thinking THIS is why we are ranked by PFF at 1 overall. If we can maintain that kind of D, we will win at least 10-11 games. We do have a tough schedule though.

He is HC, He is the head man of that team it is his responsibility from offense, defense and special teams unless you are telling me the Rams have no HC and he is just the OC and nothing more? That is a complete cop out he is where the buck stops no one else
I was reading in the Washington Post that the Rams started the trend nowadays where teams are hiring bright offensive minds as HCs; who in turn are hiring former head coaches who specialize in defense as their DCs and taking a hands off approach there. Kliff Killingsbury is doing the same thing with Vance Joseph in Arizona.

I want to see this Sunday how our Offense comes out. I am expecting to see our O-Line get some holding calls. There will be lots of extra effort from the run game after a epic fail. Even though I didn’t really see the playcalling using a toss or sweep or many screens to get Elliot on the edge.

Our Defense has to get that pressure on rogers or they will score. There offense seems to be in a slump.

Aaron Rodgers always seems to get the Red Carpet treatment from the refs..and if the game is close, no way we are winning it. We must get 2 scores up on GB early and keep our foot on their necks. NO mercy.

start fast, get up on them early...STAY AHEAD. The last thing we need is to start slowly and keep GB in it within striking distance, risking the refs to control the outcome.

I actually agree.. if the Rams had a better qb they would be scary. Their coaching is lights out. I really like their playcalling. Their defense is overrated though.

The Seahawks have a really good offense. And wilson is probably the front runner for mvp.

I see this game coming up a PERFECT TIME to show case Tony Pollard heavily. Give them something else to defend and think about. We failed to do that last week in my opinion. I thought one of the reasons we drafted him was to showcase his versatility against a team like the Saints. THAT was a head scratcher..us not using him hardly.

agree..Goff is much more Hype than he is substance. To hear Troy call his games , you would think the guy was Peyton Manning lol..Its ridiculous how low the standards have gotten for what a good QB is. Again...Dak gets very little love,no matter what he does.

Stigma of a running QB?

Good lord.

If you follow Seattle, every fan would tell you that Wilson runs way too much. Particularly since he's one of the smallest QBs in the league.

well he has too..like you said, its smallish..shorter. Hard to see or find throwing lanes when your vision is limited by the oline. He's deadly when he gets on a hot streak...hard to defend when he gets going, whether hes in the pocket or on the move. But when he gets on a cold streak, he's pretty bad. Much like Dak in some ways. Both are streaky QB's.

Teams have always hired former OC or DC. If we judge him as an OC then fine he has done very well. However I think there still has to be one over riding voice in coaching a team. Pretty much you are just telling me Rams have no real HC

Watched it to the 4th qtr, fell asleep somewhere after Rams went for 2 and ole Goff fell short... meh, I was glad to see them get toasted in Seattle. Any lose for the Rams is a win for us after last year imo...as for your post, it was a shoot out and the better team won. personally I see McVay starting to look like a lot of HC's in the league after folks get some film on him. Rams for my input are a hot mess ATM...

if by very streaky you mean when he gets hot he's incredible then i agree. he's pretty incredibly consistent though, so i can't get with you on the rest. and he's been in the league for 7 years now with a sb title to his name. safe to say he's been crowned already.
trent Dilfer won a SB..I would hardly call him crowned....it takes a team.

The Rams have gotten away from what's made them a good team over the last couple years, and now seem a pass happy team. They are putting too much pressure on Goff. If they don't start running the ball again they'll be back in the toilet. if they keep asking him to drop back 50+ times a game he'll get hurt.

Seattle had the more balanced offense and not surprisingly they won. Russell Wilson had an easy efficient effort.
Looked to me like Russell Wilson was running for his life for a good part of the game. His ability to extend plays is what makes him so dangerous. Kudos to RWilson and a missed FG.

The Rams have an amazing head coach. McVay just oozes confidence.
Goff is really holding back their offense. I could not believe how wide open all the receivers are.
-It seemed like the Rams were using PA in 60% of their drop backs.- BTW it works
-Goff never throws the ball deep, everything is short or medium. If I was him I would have McVay half my salary.
-Gurley is a shell of himself, but he was running through some wide open lanes. Their running game has him running downhill. I never see Zeke getting those kinds of lanes to run through.
Zeke is always running into a wall. We never use traps or misdirections, or sweeps or tosses. What is going on ?

Russell Wilson is worth the $35 million a year the Hawks are paying. That man is a magician and is really playing with the deck stacked against him. If he was on the Chiefs or Rams no one would doubt his greatness.
The one quality I wish Dak would take from is running for first downs when the play breaks down. It almost seems like Dak does not want the stigma of a running QB. In the NO game in the 4th quarter on both third downs before the last drive Dak could have run and gotten a first. He needs to remember.. run for another set of downs, not to take it to the house.

Love your post, but some will still blame Zeke even when he don't have the holes to run thru, he is suppose to be Superman and run over all eleven defenders enroute to the endzone without blocking. It's like they are mad at him but not the BEST OL in the league who were getting the tails handed to them.

I'm sorry but if you actually watch the Seahawks, you'll see that Russ is very rarely on a cold streak.

His worst season was in 2016 when he suffered multiple injuries in the first few weeks that lingered and affected his mobility tremendously. That year, he led the team to a 10-5-1 season and a playoff win.

give me Dak

I think the McVay offense is more west-coastish, with quicker throws and build on run after catch.....than the deep attack like Air Coryell or Zampese offense. it doesn't mean they don't throw deep, it just means its mostly based on short throws....NE was similar in the past, with the slot WRs primary recievers and RACs. they didn't have a strong running game so in essence those short passes were like their 5 yard runs.....
Some teams know how to make it easy on their offense. I really think the boys are close this year. If we can just open up the offense and vary the run game. Zeke is a true difference maker please use him as such.

Russ is truly elite. I find it hard to believe that their offense does not pass more often. They don’t have the defense of past years to play it close to the vest and expect to win.
