Quickest fix for Dallas, aside from a new GM

Looking past Jerry Jones' overbearing atmosphere that handicaps every coach in Big D, the quickest way to improve the Cowboys is to build a strong running game!

The Cowboys do not have a commitment to run. They keep checking out of it on the whim of the QB. Dallas has to be able to set a slow paced game that eats the clock, whenever they want. Playing against a high powered offense like the Broncos or Saints, you have to have it! There's a much better chance that the slow methodical pounding offense wins out against the quick strike offense.

Why? The DEFENSE is more rested with a run-centered offense. Strength and conditioning coach is not entirely to blame, each incomplete pass or clock stopping play means more time on the field for your defense.
It's not a good formula to keep gunslinging the ball around, but Dallas keeps going to that, even when their backup QB has not had extensive reps with receivers for more than one week.

Sometimes, I think it would be great to just go goaline with a NT-sized fullback and pound the opposing defense into submission. I doubt Romo would check out of that just to pass it to Tyron Smith.

Quickest fix.....JJ get humble, stop selling the snake oil, and fire the complete coaching staff.

The reasonable fix.....end the Garret project now.

I honestly don't know if it's fixable if Jerry doesn't change dramatically. As long as he remains in control and with his super-sized ego, I don't think the coach or team personnel really matter....Jerry's meddling could have ruined coaches we now think of as geniuses.

Get a new offensive coordinator in here with his own scheme who is not afraid to run with a balanced attack and creativity. This will take some pressure off the defense.

Concentrate on the defense through the draft and sign a few decent FA defensive players to fill in the holes.

Find a new training regimen to reduce the amount of injuries, particularly hamstrings.

quickest "possible" fix?

garrett is staying. gm ain't chaning.

The draft and free agency. ALL D-line and O-line. Those are the most pressing needs. I want all 7 rounds focused on those areas if there is good value.

They don't check out of it based upon a whim, tey check out of it based upon the look the defense gives them. The run-pass option is part and parcell of this offense. Further, Orton threw it 46 times and the simply abandoned the run when Green Bay adjusted to the sweep too the right-side which was effective in the first. This coaching staff shows no ability to adjust to the game when it's happening before them. They had nothing to counter in the running game outside that sweep.

The only Free agent I'd like is Jon Asamoah or Matt Slauson.

We need a guard that can step in and play right now at a high level if we want to make the most of our "franchise" QB's remaining career.

Lol, get real. We will again get one meat and potatoes guy and the rest will be skill position players or DB's. that's all this team ever does.

If the scouts see anybody that weights over 300 they go the other direction!

Well that's what I would offer as the quickest fix.

What else can we do? Changing nothing and expecting different results for..idk..4+ years is insane. And Jones is about to do just that

I like your way of thinking, but can we trust Jerry with anything anymore? No way, Jose.

Who you wanting to replace? I don't think Slauson is better then Bernadeau or Leary, at least he wasnt this year.

Jerry isn't giving up the GM position. Garrett isn't going anywhere and isn't going to let someone else call the plays. Having said that, we can still win. We need to fix the D line. Pick up a Safety from somewhere and hope Garrett has learned from his mistakes. Something I noticed today on NFL network with all the fired coaches. They all had terrible records in the few years they were with the team that fired them. Garrett's record is much better that any of those fired BUT he has a better team than they did. I think....

Quick fixes don't last thats why you give the HC plenty of time to do his thing and support him along the way. Smh!!!!

Then bring in the JUMBO package, with no recievers or TE's. There's no audible out of that.

RUN THE BALL, BURN THE CLOCK, SAVE-REST YOUR DEFENSE!!!

quickest fix? Add pressure to the defense...presumably, that means better and healthier DLinemen...you apply pressure with your 4 DL, then the rest of the defense gets significantly better....you can't let opposing QB's just sit back there and survey the field all day
