Do you think this pick will haunt us... Sorry, not trying to ruin everyone's night but this has been on my mind all day.. kind of like the stephen jackson trade...
I really don't think Romo has shown enough to pass on a franchise QB such as Quinn who has potential to be the next Manning and Brady.. Anyone else feel this way?

I thought we were going BPA?

I dont agree with Quinn being the next Brady or Manning... he has shown me nothing to belive that.

You let Charlie Weis get into your head llike he did to Crennel (sp?)

Could be, but if Romo is a bust, we have two first rounders next year to address it.

There is also a chance that Quinn busts and the Cowboys get a franchise player in the first round next year.

What makes you think Quinn is a franchise QB and not another Aaron Rodgers?

Not really on that idea.. just tired of passing on big time players and being labeled as a mediocre team

I wouldn't want Quinn he's never been a big game QB at ND. If Moss didn't have any character issues then he would probably have been picked before us. Besides didn't we pick Ellis that year? He's been a really solid player.

Do you realize that 7 teams with either no clear starting QB or serious QB questions passed on Brady Quinn?

Two of those teams have former QB coaches as their head coach. One of those teams' head coach has as a close friend Quinn's college head coach.

Consistently during the broadcast today, nearly every talking head said that they've talked to scouts that think that Quinn simply isn't very accurate and has little upside (i.e., he's reached his potential).

Does that tell you something?

If he's so great, why did he drop to 22? We know that Romo can play at the NFL level. We don't know that about Quinn. And anyway, we have 2 first round picks next year. No complaints here, although it would've been nice to nab a receiver.

Quinn's mechanics scare alot of people and me too. His lack of top accuracy is a direct result of his mechanics flaws like lifting his back foot before he releases the ball. Steve Young pointed out how bad Stanton's release is which causes a lack of spiral.

Edwards, Kolb were good but John Beck's mechanics looked great.

You got to wonder how Quinn could have these flaws with Weis as his coach?

Drew Henson's mechanics flaws ought to teach us a lesson. Henson probably has everything else, but a slow sidearm release costs him too much when DB's run 4.3s.

Romo's quick release and good mechanics make all the difference.

BTW, Nobody compares to Aikman's. There's reason he was so accurate.

why the hell would we have wanted Quinn??? i'll admit that i was a little intrigued about maybe taking him but that thought quickly went away because QB is far from our list of needs

When Quinn finally wins a big game, then you can start worrying.

If Bill were here we would have taken Quinn or a secondary player...

A. You don't know that, so stop pretending like you do.

B. Would that be the same Bill who for four years "shopped for his own groceries" yet failed to win us a single division title or even get us past the first round of the playoffs?

Is that the Bill you're talking about?

Big time players? Has Quinn ever played against the Washington Commanders? The Indianapolis Colts? The New York Giants?

Who big time did he play well against?

Instead of big time player, it sounds as though you want someone big in the eyes of mock draft Madden-GMs.

But maybe the grass would always be greener . . . .?

:)
