OK, we've heard it from the horses mouth. Parcells let the cat out of the bag today regarding depth at the QB spot ...

If (key word) someone is brought in, who do you think gets cut at QB?

Surely, we won't keep 4 QB's on the roster ...

The QB with the least long term value or potential is usually the one gone. I don't for one minute believe there are plans to bring in another QB. The Coach wanted two young QBs to get the message. I bet they did.

We're trading for Matt Schaub (atlanta wouldn't do it), not because of today's performance, this guys just good.........

Parcells said he's going to let them play in the preseason and then when that's done if something needs to be done, "he'll try to do it" ... and by him saying "he knows who they are" ... you'd have to have your head in the sand to believe that they don't have a back up plan here.

By your statement here, if you believed it, you'd have to think that they haven't thought about other options.

IF someone is brought in ...Romo is gone
Henson would have to totally suck and Romo not inspire enough confidence to be the backup.

So....the fact Romo has been here longer and not progressed would lead to his being cut. Henson despite the hype IS a project, and it is too early to give up on him.

That said it is too early to speculate...get back to me in two weeks :lmao2:

You're so transparent it's not funny. I find it sad that you root for any of our players to fail, but hey, it's a free country. You won't find me joining stupid agendas like that.

I want all 3 of our QBs to succeed and prosper. I've been firmly entrenched as a Henson hopeful, but you won't ever see me taking swipes at Tony Romo. What purpose does that serve? When some were bashing him for playing golf and trying to qualify for the US Open I stayed out of it. I'm not a Drew Bledsoe fan particularly but the news he is shining doesn't depress me, it thrills me. The idea of good QB play is too good for me to pass up.

Don't think I'm singling you out because I'm not. There's a large contingent of former debaters for a certain QB who all have the same agenda. Newsflash, Henson is no longer a threat to your candidate. Of course I realize that the reason most of you root for him to fail is that guys like me who were critical of your star are excited about Henson.

In other words, it really has nothing to do with the players, you've made it personal. Again, you're not alone, so don't feel singled out. But you can stop pretending that you're clever. This is nothing more than a new thread for you to spout BS about one of our players that you don't happen to like.

Like I said, it's a free country, so spout away. Just don't expect me to play like a fish and get hooked. I'm not stupid.

Out of morbid curiosity, what would you expect him to say? That there are no options if these guys fail? You can't be that naive.

By your statement here, if you believed it, you'd have to think that they haven't thought about other options.
If they haven't explored all options then they are stupider than this never ending song of yours. Of course they've discussed what options are open to them and not just at QB.

Let me put it this way so there is no room left for doubt. I don't care who they cut if they have to cut someone. I don't care who they send to the Practice Squad. I don't care who they bring in. I don't believe they will bring in anyone. I never have, and I never will. One statement in a Press Conference to answer a question does not equal a mindset.

We've only completed one week in training camp so Henson and Romo have some time. But if neither of these two can get it done, I believe Romo will be gone.

I don't want to speculate who the replacement will be but I have a hunch it's VT. Yikes!

Thank you, Hos. You've expressed, better than I could have, my reaction to the same garbage being drudged up time after time by the same group of schmit slingers.

I just think the QB debate is engrained.

It will exist even if there is no reason to even have it exist.

Bledsoe is the QB.

End of story.

I don't think he is great, but he IS better than either option A or B.

And just because option B now is looking dreadful, there is no reason to go off on a tangent.

It is what it is.

It will be sorted out. Coach Parcells is on top of it.

The only scenario involving the release of one of our quarterbacks would be IF someone were to fail a drug test.

I agree with all of this. Bledsoe is the guy for now. And deservedly so. The pups aren't ready. Let me be clear, too: for as long as he remains the guy, I hope he plays lights out.

But I don't think we're talking about a "QB debate" here, in any real sense. What Hos and I are inveighing against is a mean-spirited agenda which - almost inconceivably,to me - has as its principal target the failure of one of our prospects. If we had clowns on this board going out of their way to slag Canty and highlight any of his sub-par practices the absurdity of it all would be readily apparent. But because we're talking about a QB and, as Hos suggests, our QB situation in recent years appears to have left some open wounds that won't heal, somehow it's seen as acceptable.

Look, I don't pretend not have a dog in this race. I'm an unabashed Henson supporter. I think he has the pedigree and star potential to be the next in a string of marquee QBs which has served as the foundation of this great franchise (though I admit that lately it's been difficult to justify that view). Others needn't share that view. But to go out of their way to constantly rub the noses of those of us who do hold that view in unreflective crap is both beyond provocative and, I dare say, contrary to the spirit of what it means to be a fan.

.

Bravo!!!

I too want Henson in, sooner or later. But I also want to see Tony thrive. Why can't ALL the young developing players, wherever they are on that learning curve, get our support?

It's sad, imo , to wish ill on any young player's development..unless he proves himself to be a cancer or has a major 'tude, does something to threaten team cohesion or makes a general arse of himself, he merits the same good will any kid does, regardless of his ability.

One of the great enjoyments of life is watching young people develop, and those so blessed, like coaches, to be in the position to help them grow, receive a special blessing. As a teacher I can tell you that there are few experiences in life more rewarding than helping young adults reach their potentials...and as a fan, I find it the chief delight of the game.

Not all of them will succeed, but for those who have this one brief shot before the inevitable intrudes....wouldn't it be great if they knew a reservoir of good will was there for them for that short span of time?

Folks holding grudges over past QB rivalries are depriving themselves of a lot of enjoyment.

More's the pity.
