"The Cowboys didn't respect us"

Just flipped onto NFL Gameday on NFL Network and caught the end of a interview with Brian Westbrook who said "We felt like they didn't really respect us and sometimes those teams get beat like today."

I believe this game had to do with lack of execution not respect. The defense showed up and dominated and the offense didn't. Plain and simple.

Agreed. 2 dominating defenses today, and one offense that outplayed the other.

I know a lot of people who think that way. Gutting out a win (like last week) would have helped us a whole lot more. That builds character.

Don't get me wrong, I think it was a wake up call and we will take care of business in Carolina and Washington. I still never look at a loss, especially one with so many injuries, as a benefit.

I agree, it was a needed wake-up call. We were in cruise control thinking we could turn it on at any moment.

This reminded me of the Rams loss back in 1992. We were destroying everyone, and then lost to the lowly Rams at home. That was the last loss of the year, and we went on to win the Super Bowl.

That game re-focused us, as I think this game will also.

The way I see it, this game showed the team's lack of maturity. Championship teams do not lose home games in December.

Philly may be a team on the decline but they have the grit Dallas needs to find if they want to compete in the playoffs.

Our horrendous performance made the Eagles look a lot more "gritty" than they are.

Only loss I look at as a benefit this year was the New England loss because I think it kept our guys hungry.

Our guys just flat out didn't show up yesterday on the offensive side of the ball.

Anyone with 2 eyes that has watched Cowboys football knows that.

So I dont look at this loss as a good thing in any way. Im not worried that much about it either but the fact Green Bay got tied back up with us is the only thing that bothers me.

As far as the offense goes good luck stopping Tony Romo on a consistent basis.

To stop him you have to do 3 things. Play great coverage, bring pressure, and hope Tony Romo doesn't make a play. Good luck with that....

I guess that's my point. This type game doesn't happen with a muture team in December. Philly, though on the decline, still has playmakers on both sides of the ball and they took advantage of Dallas' lack of maturity.

The good news is that Dallas has enough talent to overcome their shortcomings on the experience level. Let's just hope they don't lose any more players to injury going into the playoffs.

When it comes down to us... we really didnt get outplayed.

We were one play from a win. We underplayed.... because the Eagles were certainly not a force on offense.

I agree with you. I said last week that this game would show the maturity level of this team.

But, I really thought the defensive side was the one that had a bit of a problem, not the offense so I was wrong about that part of it.

I was happy with the defensive play. The number of possesions that Philly started near the 50 was amazing - amzaing that we held them to ten IMO

You mean like 1995 when the Commanders beat us 24-17 in December and in Dallas?

We have to give that Championship back huh? I kind of hate that. It puts us back to 4 ya know. Worse, it gives the Steelers 6.

Dallas should be beat across the head for a performance like that on offense... Westbrook was probably right.

"They didn't respect us" is just Philly playing their little violin. That's what they like to think. It's what Ray Rhodes used one time to fire his time up, by telling them lies. They're also trying to make it sound like they put out a better effort and played with more heart. But to be honest, Philly played like a bad team. It wasn't impressive. Romo just was worst.
