NO ONE will fill these shoes.

Sad news, I've been dreading for months now.

Sad news. When I was a kid, we used to listen to his music a lot at 5:00 AM on our way out to our hunting spots.

I am not a country music fan. In fact, most of it I strongly dislike.

But this man, he was something different. I have quite a collection of George Jones songs in my iTunes library.

Perhaps it's nostalgia because I grew up listening to him when my grandfather would play the same 10 George Jones songs over and over and over. Whatever, it hit me hard this morning hearing about his passing.

He finally stopped loving Tammy Wynette.

RIP Possum

Yep, apparently, he stopped loving her today.

RIP George Glenn Jones, you've earned it.

When I used to do Conventions/Trade Shows he was once hired to do a private concert for about 200 people that I assisted on sound...

He was amazing... his voice was just like it was in the studio and he was so nice to everyone... I'll never forget that experience...

That's so cool. Lots of nice tributes I've read today.

I still can't believe he's gone.. The Possum isn't supposed to die.

19 years old and I have watery eyes. Atleast we still have The Hag.

one of the shows he missed he was found in my hometown of 1,500 people drunk in a motel that had about 8 rooms. Besides the Sonic opening maybe the most exiting thing to ever happen when I lived there.

I don't know if it's true or just a good drinking story but I read once Tammy took the car keys away from George to keep him from going to the bar.

He fixed her. He hopped on his riding mower & went to the bar that way.

It sounds too funny not to be true.

Oh it's true. It was his 1st wife, Shirley though. He even lampoons it in this song/video here:

That's so funny that he did that. Tammy was the only ex he had I thought but thanks for the info.

You can't make up stuff like that. Great story. Funny video. Thanks.

I heard today George's funeral is going to be open to the fans.

Very cool of the family.

I'm sure he has fans who have been so for decades & George is part of their own family.
