Raiders | Allen may draw their interest
Wed, 22 Mar 2006 16:41:06 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Oakland Raiders may show some interest in free agent OL Larry Allen (Cowboys). Allen owns a home 20 minutes from Oakland's training complex and would like to live there full time. The Raiders could use a guard like Allen, so he fits there.

When we tried to trade him, they were hot on his trail so this isn't surprising. I just can't imagine LA in black and silver though. Big step down for him IMO.

Another report came up right after this one mentioning the Seahawks as well. With him being so close to Oakland, that is probably the most likely spot though.

The strongest man in the NFL.....seems fitting to play for the Silver and Black.....wonder if they will let him wear spikes on his shoulders....hehehe.

Larry Allen will always go down as one of the greatest cowboy players ever....I will miss seeing him on sunday.

But good things always have to come to a end......Thanks for the memories Larry.

I've missed Larry Allen for the past 5 years.

The guy wearing his number since then is a shell of the former great player.

His memory will be missed, but the lousy play won't.

That lousy player you're talking about was still a Pro-Bowler last season!:laugh2: I wouldn't say he's been bad the last five years.

He did have 2 bad years of those five. Had big Bill not come to town Larry would be a couple pro bowls short of his ten. However, I absolutely loved Allen and will miss him horribly.

i love larry allen but whats with the raiders and really old guys

Oakland is like the burial ground for former superstars.

Al Davis must really think this helps him sell tickets. I suspect this is the way the Cowboys will operate when Jerry turns 80.

Oakland Raiders... HMMMMM, imagine that...

Now Warren Sapp can abuse him in training camp like he always did in games...

Allen is just right for the Raiders and it will be interesting to see what kinds of offers he gets and from which teams.
