Rams get #1 overall

The fact is that you either have one or are desperate for one.

You're trading away two years' worth of draft picks, or you're paying Sam Bradford $18 million and Chase Daniel $7 million while still looking.

If that doesn't make it clear enough for some people, nothing will.

Sure, I get the thinking. Without a quarterback, your teams is hopeless.

They obviously really like one of them. Fisher is pretty good at evaluating talent. They're wasting away good players with bupkus at quarterback.

I just don't see it with this crop. I could very well be wrong. Surely, it's Wentz.

I'd like to see Dallas grab Hackenberg in the 3rd if he's there.

At that point, if you don't want Bosa, the choices would be Tunsil which would be Draft BPA or Elliott. I would opt for Elliott
as the least risk choice if we're stuck and can't trade down. Someone might covet Tunsil and come up a few spots for him..
Maybe, the Titans would come up from 15 for him...we don't know.

Elliot would have to be up there as the top player, and that would have to be the choice if available with the 4th pick.

And only worse the longer you wait. That's a fact.

But you sit back and act smug thinking that you somehow 'know better'. Ignorance is bliss.

I obviously don't know better. If these seasoned GMs can't pick quarterbacks, I sure as heck can't.

But I don't see Andrew Luck in any of these guys coming out of college. Maybe they do.

Yes, these quarterbacks are so awesome, nobody knows which one the Rams like. LOL

Desperation leads to bad QB drafting decisions. The success rate is less than 5 percent.

Just because we don't know who the Rams like doesn't mean they don't?

so which is it? is fisher good at evaluating talent, or do they have a bupkus at qb?

True. They obviously LOVE one of them. But it's funny that we don't know which one for that steep of price.

Gotta be Wentz, I would think. Goff is a stick that ran a horribly un-NFL offense.

I've been very anti-RB at 4.

But in that scenario where my choices are either Tunsil, Jack, Elliott and a trade down isn't an option.............. I might hold my nose from the stench and go Elliott or Jack (assuming healthy) before Tunsil.

Jack has to pass medicals to even be considered though I agree. The only other choice I can see would be to take Lynch at #4. There has to be
1 of the top 3 QB's still on the board when Dallas picks barring the tradedown.

This was my nightmare scenario. San Diego is 100% taking Ramsey and no one is going to trade up for Tunsil.

It would be disappointing to be stuck at #4 with both quarterbacks gone and no trade down option. But if I'm stuck, I'm taking the best offensive lineman and until today, the #1 overall pick to complete my set for the next 5-10 years.

That group would make every one of my skill position players that much better, wherever they were drafted.

None of these top defenders make enough game-changing plays in my opinion to be worthy of the #4 overall selection.

Everyone freaking out about possibly taking Tunsil I dont think needs to worry about it. The Chargers would be INSANE to pass up on Tunsil. It leaves us with Ramsey or Zeke (IMO). I wouldnt complain about either selection

Where has "most everyone" ever said that? Both Goff and Wentz are consensus top 10 picks. The Rams paying that cost to move up to #1 only reaffirms that fact.

They did pay a lot, but in reality, they got a 10% discount by the books. Still a ton.
But yes, no doubt that that they like one of those QBs a lot.
And no doubt that they want excitement to fill seats in their new home. They have an extra motive here.

Lynch at 4 is a big reach IMO and I've been on the QB bandwagon now for awhile.

Tunsil would be the best player available at 4 and I am also usually BPA. But the Cowboys are in a unique situation where they already have a dominant, the dominant, OL in football and Free, the guy everyone wants to replace, actually wasn't bad last year. He was pretty decent. So do I need another first round OL?

So as I said, I pinch the nose and take the risk on Elliott becoming the next Eric Dickerson or Jack becoming the next Ray Lewis.

Exactly. And they may be completely wrong or you or I may be too. For my own opinion, I do see it in Goff. Wentz? I'm personally not as sure about. But I'm just a guy typing on the Internet.

;)

Both. But quarterbacks fail 95 percent of the time. They've been nailing the draft for years, and winning nothing. Desperation is setting in.

They want to make a splash with their move back to Los Angeles. I hope small-town Wentz (I assume) can handle the LA glitz and all that pressure as the "savior."

While everyone is cat-fighting over the potential pick of Tunsil, I'll be over at the Rams, Titans and Commanders forums enjoying what they have to say about this trade fleecing. I'm sure they are breaking out the box wine!

The Chargers have money tied up recently in both their OTs. Sure, one could kick inside ala Martin but I think Ramsey is very much an option for them at 3.

Why do people see such a big gap between Wentz and Lynch? I just don't see it, they are close to me.

Consider this, until today, we also didn't know that they were this serious about moving up. Lots of information that we're not privy to and there's little reason for the Rams to give the league that information until draft day.

Totally agree. Add in the fact that Weddle just left town and that makes more sense to me.

You see, that's exactly why this is incredible. You think it's Goff. Most think it's Wentz. None of us really know.

When Troy or Peyton or Luck or Palmer came out, we all pretty much knew who the guy was. Sure, there was a Leaf or RG3 in the conversation, but nobody doubted the NFL "look" of those guys. No guarantees, but we could see the promise.

I worry about Wentz in Los Angeles with the pressure of being the face of the franchise. Goff ran a ridiculous offense, so who knows how long it'll take to get him ready.

It's gotta be Wentz, I think. He ran a pro-style offense in college.

It's definitely a factor. Big move back to LA, promoting it all on Hard Knocks, and now a brand spanking new quarterback at the top of the draft to go with it.

It may or may not work, but the marketing aspect of it all is brilliant!
