Rams get #1 overall

THats wrong,Ramsey best position is SS because he is amazing blitzer and he can cover the slot and TEs and he is not afraid to tackle.our safety combo with Jones and Ramsey will be a miraculous improvement over Wilcox and Church.

No, they (the Cowboys) would not do that.

If they keep Jones at safety... Ramsey (if drafted by Dallas) would start his career at corner.

I would prefer that... then maybe later on in his career he can go to safety.

I would rather have two guys with the range of Jones and Ramsey at safety. Makes passing a lot harder.

Truth be told, though, I'd rather that they not draft Ramsey, and find a way to get the QB not selected by the Rams.

why do do think so ? our weak link has always been safety play, putting Ramsey at the best position to succeed is the best move .It worked out for KC and eric berry.

Is better safety play needed?

You bet.

But to spend two firsts, two years in a row on safeties?

No... Don't see.

Especially when the corners are as bad or worse than the safeties.

our corners are hung out to dry because of bad safety(wilcox probably failed every Trigonometry test he took) play, you put Jones and Ramsey out there at Safety and you see a dramatic improvement in the whole secondary.

Sounds similar to Woody, I'd be okay with him @ SS if he can cover modern TEs/slot WRs is esp athletic, and can help in run D I'm all for him. I want Joseph in the 2nd so was trying to get a feel of "pure athlete" or "modern SS" bc I believe that the S position comes 2nd only to edge rushers in cover 2/3/4 schemes zone schemes that Marinelli used to get pressure and TO's while in CHI; will give him that he had more of playmaker in Tillman over Scan.

Sorry... just don't see it happening.

It does, but Woody was a 2nd rounder.

Not a guy you're going to have to commit $24 mil in guaranteed dollars too.

I'm thinking in the modern passing league (TEs posing as Wrs, scat backs, shifty slot WRs, etc. that you have to value the S position as much as the CB position in a zone defense. I know we played primarily man cover 1 last season out of necessity; playing to Carr/Mo's "strengths".

W/Carr and Scan as starters, you're going to have one weak zone CB (Carr) and one who can play both well but won't get you many INTs (Scan) with Mo (man corner) mixed in now (not sure why). It feels Marinelli's hand is being forced into man coverages over his primary preference and on top of that, with average man corners outside of Scan. I see holes in this secondary unless we get some decent zone corners in the draft (should be had later) and finally cut Carr w/Mo as 3/4th corner manning the outside in nickel formations (if he improves).

Seems you would have to blitz a lot more than Marinelli is truly comfortable with (outside of the one WAS game last year) to cause the TOs/Ints we lacked last year or actually get him the secondary players he wants and not just "work around your scheme projects" like Carr and Mo. I don't hate the Mo contract bc it was relatively low but also know he is a man corner, so not sure why the team felt they had to retain him.

You people better listen to Winicki. If anyone knows corners, he does.

Yeah, he's a real fountain of knowledge. Let's invest more top resources on impactless players even after watching it fail time after time.

Selecting Ramsey is like forfeiting the pick. It is so irrelevant it doesn't even worth mentioning.

Oh you bet you need solid safety play.

Heck I know Wilcox is bad. Church is "meh".

As others have pointed out, the "Nickel" 4-2-5 is the predominant defense for the Cowboys... Corner, safety... A guy as talented as Ramsey can find a place back there.

There are many teams I'm sure that are going to value the talent Ramsey brings to the table...

I'd be happy with Tunsil.

Advantages with both players.

If you want to be bitter today... Go call on Jeff Fisher.

You looking at Lynch at 4; trade up w/TEN off the table, etc.?

Even Zack Martin is distraught over losing him. (Pay no attention to the title, that's team spin)
