Rams get #1 overall

The good news is we won't get saddled with Quincy carter I mean Carson wentz.

The bad news is we won't be getting drew Brees I mean Jared goff.

Who is 2017's top qb prospects? Our next qb is very important as my really giving a **** about the Cowboys heavily depends on if the next guy is as like able as romo

That's high praise for Goff. The Quincy reference did get a smile out of me I will admit:D The College game being so watered down in terms of NFL style offenses really makes this harder than ever to predict future QB prospects. Cal would be a good team to follow, same with Stanford, etc. Some love the kid out of Clemson ('17 draft), some hate him for this reason; style of O. Think both are obv gone by #4 w recent STL trade, so we're out of the QB blue chip prospects this draft it seems unfortunately.

We're screwed....

I truly believe our original strategy was to get Goff or Wentz at 4. Now that the #1 pick goes to a team with a major QB need followed by Cleveland. I bet our strategy has changed from let's get our next franchise QB to let's get Zeke. He's dynamic and gives us the offensive firepower that we had back in the Demarco days (and some). I bet that Rams move has completely shifted our strategy.

No way we go Defense at #4. Bosa isn't worth it.

Not a great situation. I'm in camp Goff, Wentz or trade down. It's looking like a trade down scenario, however you obviously need someone wanting to trade up bad enough.

Taking Ramsey is a recipe for screwing this pick up. Simply because the Cowboys are almost certainly going to develop him as a CB. It's pretty clear from all the talk around the team that Jones is going to be developed as a safety, which leaves the need at CB, and it would be hard for the Cowboys to justify taking a guy at 4 who can fill a need there and not playing him that position. I feel like they will do it even if they know it's not his best position and the chatter from guys like Spagnola seem to confirm this. Which means we likely don't get that difference maker we should be getting with the no. 4 pick.

Here's hoping either Goff somehow slips down to us, or we can find a trade partner to grab a haul of picks and move down. I also wouldn't waste a pick on a mid round QB. If we can't get one of the top rated QB's in this draft, I think we try again next year. I'd try and get some picks in next years draft in a package to move down from 4 in order to give us more assets to do that. We don't need to waste picks and time on a developmental QB with more limited upside and high bust potential, we need to try and get someone with a decent chance to be a franchise guy, or at least the very least a good starter.

Well that was a nice dream while it lasted.

Can't wait 3 years from now when we are scrambling to find a franchise QB.

I don't think it'll be that long before we are. I personally think Romo's playing 16 games in a season days are over, not with the chronic back and cheap shots he gets.

They are saying that the 2017 3rd going to TEN is the comp pick LA is getting for losing JJenkins.

This would be the first comp pick ever traded and makes the deal a bit better for LA.

How is that possible when that comp pick has yet to be awarded?

Its overkill. You can get a GREAT right tackle and develop him and get him in later rounds. This team has too many holes to try and improve a unit that's already great.

I don't know. I think in today's NFL.......you can go out there and just put your best players out there and be okay. Who's to say Byron Jones can't play SS? What does he lack that SS's have in this league?

I worry about his ability to stay healthy as a strong safety. He was injured in college and then was injured last year also. He has had shoulder injuries tackling people. He seems to be very fast and athletic but I don't know if he can stand up to the abuse his body may take playing strong safety.

Maybe Ramsey could strong safety in the NFL but I don't know if that is a position that is worth the 4th overall pick.

My thought is that if they draft Ramsey they are drafting him as a CB primarily. Maybe he can play great as CB.
I can see a scenario where we have B Jones and Ramsey both as our starting corners.

Assuming the Rams choose one of the QBs it says that the Rams at least agree with that point of view. I am not sure that you can say that all teams echo that sentiment, but I think it is pretty good evidence that the Rams do.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens on draft day before we know with absolute certainty but all indications are that both of these quarterback will be gone early. Top 5 at the latest.

Carr will be out of contract soon enough...Scandrick closw to a lengthy suspension....we could be looking at drafting a defensive back early next April.as well. I would prefer Jack. But Ramsay is the pick if he is there.

whelp, forget this season. let's move on to the next.

If you are the titans... Will you take what the Cowboys offer at four without two seconds or what the Rams offered? So the Cowboys offer would have to be realllllly good to beat the Rams.

Said this yesterday. I don't think the Cowboys could offer what the Titans wanted. Number of picks are relatively more important to the Titans than being on the clock at 4 in this draft.

Generally speaking, unless you are somewhat desperate for a QB - hence accept the nature of paying a premium in order to get one - I think you're inclined to seek a trade down (in the hope of maximizing ROI) in a draft like this one without many clearcut blue-chippers.

Silly argument, if Tunsil is rated higher on the board, you take him. RT is a need and Tunsil is a better than any other tackle in this draft by a GREAT margin. It's not even close. He'd be a LT on nearly every other team in this league, day one.

Bill Polian doesn't think so and says so near the end of this clip with Mel and Todd:

Perfect scenario for the cowboys....

Rams - Wentz
Cle - Goff
San Diego - Tunsil
Dallas - Ramsey (2nd choice -Buckner)

And I think Dallas would run to the draft table with Ramsey's name on the card

If Ramsey plays CB as a rookie does that mean he's forced to play there his entire career?

Weird how that didn't happen with Jones.

Magic?

Just add it to the other 21.

sorry. i'll at least stick around watch before running around going WE'RE DOOMED WE'RE DOOMED cause we're OBVIOUSLY NOT going to get who we OBVIOUSLY were targeting so HELL WHY BOTHER ANYMORE WE'RE SCREWED!!!!
