Rams love Benardrick McKinney

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports the Rams will "target linebackers early in the draft" and "love" Mississippi State ILB Benardrick McKinney.
"The team worked out McKinney last week and came away very impressed," Pauline wrote. "The tenth pick of round one is too early for McKinney which lends many to believe the Rams could tradedown in the first round or trade up from the second round to secure McKinney." The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder projects best as an edge rusher or two-down thumper in a 3-4. He recorded 243 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, eight passes defended, and one forced fumble during his MSU career. Why post this here? He is likely to be available at 27 and if there is a player they like as much at the Rams 2nd round pick, could be a trade down. Say the Rams 2nd, 3rd and 6th. Jerry has recent trade history with them (not a good one)and it seems logical. You could probably get a starting corner and maybe RB at that spot.

I'm curious what position teams project him to play. Especially 4-3 teams. I can't see drafting a 2 down LB early.

Why not have them trade us their top pick (they trade back instead of up) and we just swap our first round pick and give them a 5th.

That's why the Rams are losers. They just spent a high pick on a MLB a year or so ago.
