I'm with Randle, because he is our guy. Murray is an Eagle, so it's open season. Here's hoping he leaves so much meat on the bone it turns green to match his uniform. :)

It's funny how people retreat to stuff like this. It was all the offensive line people claimed, then counter-arguments showing facts had people back away from this. Exaggerations of his injury history, people backed away from that. Had trouble breaking tackles, making long runs above 20+/40+ yards, people backed away from that when shown the statistics since 1996 and how he averaged around the same as previous backs.

Now the criticisms have shifted to, he doesn't have "breakaway speed" and "poor vision". The breakaway speed can be countered with the fact that he has great initial burst at the line of scrimmage and great start and stop speed, the "poor vision" is something people retreat to because they think their eye tests are great observations and it's almost impossible to provide enough film evidence to create an argument against it.

It's stuff like this that tells me people create these petty complaints to make themselves feel good about our RB situation.

You haven't heard me complaining about his lack of breakaway speed. I didn't complain about it with Emmitt either.

Nor did I say it was all the OL, because that is a symbiotic relationship, as you know.

And I haven't been worrying about how many long runs he made.

What I have been saying since last year is that his vision and instincts appear to be a little off, and that he always tends to leave some yards on the field of games.

That doesn't mean I didn't like him, and it doesn't mean that I didn't think he was a good runner for Dallas. It simply means that I don't think he is a player that you break the bank for. In part because of his vision and instincts, and in part because of the position he plays. I also think that his OL did as good for him as any back's OL in the NFL. They weren't completely responsible for how well he did... but they were partially.

I liked Murray and I still think he is a tough SOB and a good soldier. I think he ran hard for Dallas and gave last year everything he had.

But the guy wanted to get paid. I don't blame him... I just don't blame the Cowboys for not matching Philly's offer. It is what it is, and now Dallas has to deal with him being gone.

I just don't think the Dallas run game is doomed without him, and, as I said last season, Murray does regularly miss holes and cutbacks that backs with really good vision will see. That's all.

I'm still a Dallas fan, just like you... and I don't hate Murray either. I just think other's can do as well as Murray and maybe even better because he would miss some things regularly.

Yup. Your intuition is spot on.

Boy seanleebaby just came all the way out of the closet, didn't he? I've been on to him for a little while but he always kept up at least some pretense of being a Dallas fan. Or tried to.

How much can you tell everyone how awesome Murray was and how the players Dallas has now stink... before everyone realizes you're actually an Eagles fan?

I always knew he was an Eagles fan. You could tell because his girlfriend had armpit hair and drank directly out of the pitcher.

I'm not so sure... The smooth words... The subversive language... The calming of the nerves, yet with subliminal messaging...
I think you do, in fact HATE Murray! Oh yeah: I got you pegged now Asthma.

You're a Goodell plant and your looking to wreck this board from the inside out with mania, dissension and sedition.
I applaud you sir and ask if I can join in the inevitably oncoming anarchistic chaos?

Murray hater...

I was never completely against letting Murray go, I understood why we let him go and accepted it. I became a little more skeptical when we didn't sign a better FA RB (Still unsure why we took McFadden before anyone else) and didn't draft an RB. And after seeing people post how matching Philly's offer wouldn't have put us into cap hell, I don't think it would have been a mistake matching it.

But it is what it is, we didn't want to give a 27 year old RB a relatively "big" contract. And I still understand that. But I don't think any RB on this roster will come in and do what Murray did better than he did, outside of maybe blocking. While Murray is no future HOF RB, you still don't find RBs like him in every draft or on the street. His combination of running and receiving was a great fit for this offense.

What are the "counterfacts" to it being the offensive line?

What are the counters to his injury history?

There are none.

The guys vomit on small children in the stands. That's how you can tell the men from the women. The women in Philly are classier that way.

"Look at a stone cutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before." - Jacob Riis

Keep fighting that good fight.

Why are people sonup in arms about someone talking crap about an Eagle

I'm not only a Cowboys' fan, I'm also a fan of the NFL (Obviously). I understand rivalries, but undeserved criticism is still dumb. With the mentality of "He sucked! Hope he gets hurt!" - first off, have some damn tact. Secondly, brushing it off like he contributed to nothing doesn't lead us to helping this team. We should be doing our best to replace a player that helped us produce with someone who can match or even do better. That's not me saying a 1,800 yard season, I'm saying finding a player that can help produce in the running and passing game and be a better blocker than Murray.
