And this is not a bad thing by any stretch, especially if he routinely approaches the yardage totals Bulger puts up when he plays full seasons.
What got me on this tangent was something about the 51 yard bomb to Owens under the dome lights the other night. It reminded me of many I've seen Bulger throw to Holt and Bruce over the last couple of years. I also think both guys have had somewhat similar starts to their careers in that neither was expected to excel or start games the year they got into action; as many will recall, it was Roy W's sack of Warner in 2002 that led to Jamie Martin and then finally Bulger getting his crack as a starter.
Both also have solid, above-average arms, above-average escapability, similar height and weight, and showed more than enough in their first incomplete seasons as starters to be the starter going into their team's next training camp. Bulger also started out with a bit of an interception problem, but has progressively curtailed that over the years, pretty much the same way I expect Romo to do as he continues to get better and better.
Like I said at the beginning of the post, if Romo lives in that 3800-3900 yard neighborhood for the next 8-10 seasons, I won't be complaining (provided that yardage total isn't inflated by a lack of a running game on our part!).
I just thought I'd post this to get some feedback and because I know that it's Favre that Romo is mostly compared to.
