Randy Gregory Deployed for Destruction

You are so perpetually and terminally depressed. I wonder why you put your shoes on in the morning!

Marinelli’s Resume includes:
-Taking an unwanted free agent Irving and making him a sack-a-game player
-Building a defensive-player-of-the-year candidate with Lawrence
-Getting 8 sacks in one season out of journeyman Selvie

There’s a healthy list of guys who did little to nothing for other teams, but thrived under RM.

You nailed it..........Thats his entire resume. All of it. LOL

when these clowns play ball, Ill let you know. Dont worry.

Taco was a rookie and his technique was a mess most of the year until he started doing a better job working with his hands.
With his size and length he *should* be a
plus as a run defender. It's likely that he's added some functional strength this offseason.
Like I said, he needs to continue to improve with his hands, technique-wise.
He started to get more active with his mitts around the second Washington game through the end of the season and that's when he started to flash as a rusher, especially against Oakland and Seattle.
Gregory obviously has been out for a long time and will have to earn playing time.
He's gotta stay clean and develop some technique to go along with his God-given ability so he has to work his tail off.
He's basically a rookie in many ways.
He has great bend and a great first step.
He has talent, now he has to get his butt on the fieldm

Should be, but he isnt. At least not yet.

Calling our players criminals is ‘artistic flair’?

Poor you. You “have to listen” to Cowboys fans excited about a Cowboys season. That must be such hardship for you.

NO, I have to listen to dumb nonsense. All you are going is uneducating fans that come on here to find out whats going on with the team. Deal in reality, not fantasy.

You know something. You are flat afraid to believe or hope in anything. Your life has been hard and cruel and it’s sucked it all out.

You can choose another way...but you’re afraid. We’re all afraid to hope.

Two specific things I’d like to see the Boys do with Gregory

-On passing plays line him up ultra wide. He has the foot speed to create terror for an offensive tackle. And if the blocker has to turn hard to the outside, it opens things up for Gregory to spin and come inside. The wider he plays the more the battle becomes about speed.

-Occasionally drop him into shallow coverage and rush Jaylon or LVE. Gregory was quite effective in coverage and had interceptions while at Nebraska. This messes up an opposing offense’s blocking assignments and the QB’s read. This cat is faster than many linebackers. This gives you a ‘blitz’ with 4 rushers.
Yes, that will do it.

I don't know if he'll be successful at football after missing so much time. I, however will be rooting him on to at least be successful in life.

Now I
Just hope RG can even play football at a decent level after not for over a year.
My expectations are nil
Right now

I just hope Gregory's as good at getting sacks as he is at getting suspended.
If he is, then it should be fun to watch.

Randy has been away from football for 22 months and has never been the type to take care of himself. Injuries are very likely with that much time off. He needs to make the team first.

Yes he does need to make the team first. As for taking care of himself... From my experience a lot of people serious about recovery get quite dedicated to fitness, health and nutrition. And career.

But yes...it’s been a long time away from football...and his recovery is one-day-at-a-time.

I hope he's got what it takes to make it, for his sake and for ours.

Gregory might be an even better pass rusher than his college numbers indicate. Cornhusker scheme had him in more passive read mode much of the time and he faced double and even triple team blocking.

Nice video. Quite an endorsement, and it didn't seem like blowing smoke either.

Not sure we dress 5 defensive ends on game day. Maybe since Crawford can slide to DT in a pinch. I like Ealy but he’s going to have to fight just to earn a roster spot with our sudden embarrassment of riches.

I don't know how we keep Crawford and his salary when we've got Taco/Gregory/Armstrong all needing snaps.
