His lack of moves are showing against Smith. He isnt ready for the top level OTs in the NFL. I think as a rookie he is going to be able to abuse weak link and rookie OT's but he needs to perfect more of an arsenal before he is ready to take on the top OTs

That's true. But, dude! He has to work against Tyron! That's like putting a puppy against the best dog in the NFL!

If he can beat Tyron just a few times while training...he will know how to beat the weaker dogs in the NFL!

For strictly 2015, Ive been more encouraged by Lawrence then Gregory. Lawrence seems poised for a 10 sack season

Oh yeah! Lawrence is going to be coming in to his own. Let's not forget about this man.

This defense is going to kick *** and then take names!

Also keep in mind Lawrence is basically a RDE who is going to be going up against RT's. He is going to get some very favorable match ups on the left side. He could force alot of teams to keep a TE in to double him

You're a solid writer for sure...one thing I think you need to do is source claims or provide evidence/quotes/clips...something for sentences like "learning at a rapid place" or "Rod Marinelli is obviously happy."

Without doing that, it doesn't have a lot of meat.

Agreed. It left me very disappointed because there was positively nothing to back up your claim! So all I got from it was hype and hope.

Yep...Coach is going to flip flop those mad idiots around...teams won't know where the hell they are coming from! lol

I feel like training camp is an emotional rollercoaster. Just days ago I was reading about how he is stubborn, doesn't want to study more, fans questioning him because of a twitter post..

And now he's impressing and everyone is goo gah gah'ing him.

Ohhhhh man.

Despite ll of the speculation, all of the attention and all of the past mistakes, Randy Gregory is just putting in work for the Dallas Cowboys in training camp. This kid has a chip on his shoulder the size of the Grand Canyon, and it’s showing. The young rookie, who fell out of the first round almost to the end of the second round of the 2015 NFLDraft, is looking great in camp so far. Rod Marinelli is obviously happy, and Gregory is growing daily. He’s already put on weight and is learning at a rapid pace. If his training camp keeps up like this, he is going to be a force to be reckoned with this season. This shouldn’t surprise anyone who has followed his career up until now, as he had all the tools to be a great player in the NFL.

Another article of mine. Just trying to get a feel for it. Any suggestions on articles you would like to see would be great. You guys have been awesome just for reading my work, I really do appreciate it.

Great post, thanks for sharing with the rest of the board. I think Gregory is going to have a great year. The best thing this year is we have Gregory, Hardy, and Lawrence to put pressure on QB's.

He is not small. Gregory is going to surprise people with how he can hold the edge. His longs arm allow him to separate and his length and speed make it very hard to beat him to the edge. He did VERY well against the run in college, even though all we hear about is his pass rushing ability.

I am not worried about his size at all. At all.

It's funny to me that a guy 6'5 who ways about 250 can be considered "too small." :)

Was watching him on the two TC specials on ESPN and NFLN and the dude has a very quick first step, but man he looks small compared to his peers on the team.

I think Gregory will be great if he can hold it together, but I am definitely holding my breath. It will all come down to strength with the weight issue. It may take a year or two for him to blossom. Lawrence looks very impressive thus far.

Fire your editor.

If the second word in an article is misspelled, not many people are going to bother reading the rest.

Also, avoid worn out clichés ("chip on his shoulder the size of the Grand Canyon"). Don't call players "kids", it makes a writer sound arrogant. When you make a claim, back it up with evidence ("Rod Marinelli is obviously happy", "Gregory is growing daily"), otherwise that's just one guy's opinion, and a guy who isn't even at camp at that. Finally, when your title is about Gregory impressing at camp, I actually expect to read stuff about Gregory impressing at camp, and not an endless rehash of things I already know about Gregory's draft story or college stats.

As a long-time journalist myself, this commentary was on the nose.
Always back up statements with examples. Don't just tell me "Gregory was a good guy" SHOW ME how Gregory was a good guy. "I remember when he walked this little ole lady across the street AND carried her dog in the process."

And Pandora is right about offering your opinion. Social media has made us believe that people's opinions are what matters. I don't really care about your opinion unless you're an expert. I care about Garrett's opinion. I care about a retired NFL player's opinion. I care about a Hall of Fame player's opinion. I don't care about your opinion unless you have some special insight based on experience.

Otherwise, tell us what those who are the experts say about Gregory's progress.

To distinguish yourself from others, give us something no one else gives us. Look for those small nuggets that would be interesting.

And hang in there. :)

He has to avoid being a fan. Tell us the truth, even if it hurts. That's what a good reporter/journalist does.

I appreciate the feedback honestly. I am new to this and just trying to get my legs under me. So any advice is well received

You should study the work of someone like @NeonDeion21 (Marcus Mosher):

Sorry to be harsh, but ND has actual information in his articles; whereas, you just have hype and speculation. You might be "trending" but that's likely just from the title of the article. The hits you get from posting it here is probably enough to get it to "trending" status.

This article isnt the one trending. Its the article i wrote on Greg Hardy. I appreciate the help. I dont have any sources to get this info, thats the problem. Im trying to make a name for myself so that i can eventually get sources. I dont even know how to go about that to be honest. Im learning as I go

Thanks, X. You don't need sources to create quality articles. Just backup your opinion with facts, quotes, or film study. Easiest way to get credibility is by putting the work in studying the tape.
