Doesn't matter why he hung on to him as probably no other team would've under the same circumstances, most fans are the same on any team, they love when they're yours and not when they leave.
Randy was a special case who got spe ial treatment here in Dallas, and I think they actually cared about him and wanted to him . There has been many reports from ex players and people I'm the know who says, Jerry genuinely care about his players.

"No other team would've" is where I disagree. 1st Round talent for cheap, you own his rights, he doesn't count toward the 53. Why would you not hold on in the hopes that you'll eventually get some return. Even if another team wouldn't have held on, another team or several would have given him a shot. That is truth. And that/those shots might have been better ones for him. Dallas afforded high visibility and the pros and cons that come with that but all the teams do their due diligence and he'd have had a market whether with us or without us. So to me, it's a "would be nice" but not a "should" situation. Business works better if you can take the emotion out of it. Fans and players both have trouble with that.

Of course Randy got special treatment because of his talent. And we all know the game is a business. So what? He got the support he needed many times over and could’ve been out of the league if it wasn’t for Jerry, who has his criticisms, but player support and treatment isn’t one of them. The special treatment doesn’t deny Gregory wasn’t ungrateful in this requited act of selfishness. Multiple things can be truthful at the same time.

We can talk about all the loyalty the fans, players, owners don't have, but in this case as been reported they genuinely cared about Randy's well being, as they did with Josh Brown few years ago.

You can be grateful without also "having" to stay here or accept a lesser contract. The fact that Gregory even got to a point where he tried to have the Cowboys match Denver's contract speaks well if he was so deadset on leaving like fans need to believe to hold over his head. In the end, the contracts were not equal, were they? Denver's contract doesn't have the guarantee void language and Dallas' did. Therefore, that one is better.

Threads concerning Gregory and Cooper are approaching a dozen in number (if not more).
No matter the situation and / or circumstances leading up to it ---both have left the building and moved on down the highway, putting Dallas in their review mirror. The Cowboys fanbase needs to do the same.
The CZer commentary / discussion/ rehash about these two has run its course.
The obsession with past players and coaches on this forum is nauseating

No other team would've, no other team wanted to draft him, and no other GM not an owner would've risked his job, on Gregory.

Lol more people hating on Randy. He fully just said the team negotiated in bad faith. Which they did. No reason to insert a clause after the fact when you’re already protected under the CBA in the same clause. It’s nonsensical. Now the “fans” are hurt by his comments? Lol. Grow up
don't matter. Fans just wanna turn the page I think now. Petulant children only care abut pointing the fingers. Randy wants attention so he can be a victim and blame someone other than himself. YES Stevie J is a tool..we know that, but Randy behaves like a gossiping old hen. Time 2 turn the page. Lets see what he does.

Gregory according to Cowboys didn't give them a chance to, they said they would've changed it, Gregory agent wanted him in Denver where he lived and has friends in Denver organization, probably also a Denver fan, it's been reported .

Fans want something to have against players in response to how their money makes them feel inferior. Therefore, they need to believe that they can still look down on players and have them beholden to the fanbase in some cockeyed superiority delusion.

Lol you don't even know what happened and you're yapping, it's been proven that they weren't negotiating in bad faith, the language is in all contracts except 1 including his old contract he signed. Know what you're talking about.

Wow, if it wasn’t for Jerry he would of been out of the league. If he falls off the wagon again, your new team wouldn’t give you another chance, you can take that to the bank!!

There is a saying that Randy should adhere to: When you go up the corporate ladder, be careful of who you step on because those are the people you are going to need when you come down from that ladder.
In other words don’t burn bridges

Nobody need anything against a player
That's some bs you pulled out your arse, fans defended this cat the same ones he call toxic, they have the right to tell him how they feel just as he does.

Lol. You think Gregory would have gone undrafted? And then after that, wouldn't have been anyone's UDFA? Come on. None of us know all 32 teams' front offices, nor media markets to know if this would have even been a quarter of the tumult it was here so elsewhere could have been even better for Gregory.

I didn't say he would've but nobody did until Dallas did a d I doubt t they would've stuck by his arse. I don't care what talent he had. How many team Josh Gordon been on and he had talent too.
