why are people getting upset.
He is a broken down shadow of his former self, hasnt played well since 2010, not had a sack in 2 years and is a buttplug of a human being. Good riddance i say.

This.

Any team that signs him to a contract better beware.

I'm more upset of the possibility of us paying him for playing with another team. I was under the impression he was done for this season.

In his mind, I bet he is like he deserved that money and is going to try to get back at Jerry by being successful somewhere else.

Truth is, we paid him to play football. Really is a bad situation for us.

I've heard stories about this very thing. All agents tell their players that signing bonuses on second contracts should be viewed as money already earned, NOT money for future play. As a result, some players take that stance, that the millions of guaranteed dollars they get is sort of a "thank you" for how well they've played up to that point. To some players, it doesn't actually mean that the team should expect anything else from them after the contract is signed.

At this point, he's Jason Vega. But he's still a punk for all this. Sue him, Jerry.

So, correct me if I'm not understanding what you guys are saying. Ratliff faked his injuries or at the very least lied to the Cowboys about the severity of it?

Yes. Unless he had some H2O from the waterboy or somebody 'laid hands', he had his own doctors saying whatever rat wanted them to. It really isn't that hard and happens everyday with pharmaceuticals. Even doctors are for hire.

It took this to catch on? The signs that he was a problem has been there for a while. I would say as far back as when he refused to try the move to DE.
This was the start of the end. For YEARS it was obvious his body type was a DE. It has been suggested to him over the YEARS to move to DE. He refused. When Garrett (who I understand the jury is still out on him) talks about the RKGs....this is NOT one of them. No matter if it is Ware, Witten etc...the inmates do NO run the asylum!

What are the rules for cap relief on this? I'm assuming its a league petition rather than an automatic move but it looks like the major injury here is the whiplash in Rat's agent from saying from saying he couldn't walk and saying he will play right away.

it was said on sunday he was released from the team because the team is a close knit group and they didn't want Ratliff bringing players down.

Seriously, that was the story sunday from the beat reporters on the pregame show, they didn't want him around the other defensive players brining his lousy attitude into meetings and stuff.

Hmmmm

What a dirty, filthy so and so.
His agent too.
I thought ligaments were hanging out of his body.
They made me feel like he was a cripple for life.

What some people would do for the money he has been handed and he spits in all of our collective faces. Including Jerry who stuck by his side through his crappy attitude.
Even Ware had things to say about it.

What a snake.

That "Appreciation Tweet" is as hollow as a toilet paper tube now.

I don't wish injuries on anybody, but I don't wish him the best.

What about the doctors Jerry has hired?

Did they not get to look at him?

I am pretty sure he hurt himself worse from the DUI accident than he led on, then tried to get the Cowboys to compensate him for it. Now that he realizes that Jerry did his homework and has a Legal team that will recoup money from him, he is magically GOOD TO GO. Gotta make that money! LOL.

that is a really interesting idea! I hope that is the case.

EDIT: something seems illegal here, just not sure what.

There was an interview that was discussing this a week or so ago. Basically, what was said was that the Cowboys organization keeps a very meticulous record of exactly what every injured player does. They keep record of when you are in the facility, when you were supposed to be in, what you did, what you were supposed to do and for how long, everything. The speculation was that the Cowboys would be going after Rat for part of his salary and based on the fact that Rat did not want to take part in a lot of the team rehabs but, instead, elected to do his own thing, that the Cowboys would probably get back some of his money.

Maybe but it would be in civil court and would not affect the cap. Right?
