The opportunity to sign Ray Lewis has sparked mostly positive opinions from what I've seen. Great leadership, great player.

As for me, I'm not so sure it is such a great idea. Lewis is getting a bit long of tooth, and it will take some big time dollars to get him. He would not be the missing link, as we have multiple pieces to the puzzle that need to be filled at this point, including players and coaches.

Just curious of the sentiments of others around here.

Thanks

I read somewhere that Ray does not like Black Oak Arkansas so I am not surprised that you don't like the idea of him coming to the cowboys.

I'm not crazy about it to be honest. He's a great leader and I don't deny that, but high priced Free Agents rarely excel on any team and ones past 30 years old are especially a gamble. he's 34. Closer to a gold watch than a Lombardi trophy.

Outstanding player, but someone I don't think we need. The rewards do not outweigh the risks in this case.

Nice quote Ray, very smart. He would love Jerry to help drive up his market value so he can sign with a real winner.

Agreed. I can't help but recall when the Skins signed Bruce Smith after years of greatness in Buffalo. He was not the player he once was. They did the same thing with Deion Sanders. LOL.

Let some other team (Skins again? ) take the risk. I say we take a pass.

I can see a new children book coming out if he came here.

Little T and Ray Ray play.

Well he certainly says all the right things that make it sound like he'd embrace the idea of playing here and believes he would do just fine here.

True that he wants to get his value as high as possible but who exactly is that real winner???

****** Ray, stop it. He just wants the payday and even if he was motivated, I dont think he could change much here if he tried.

not interested. i would rather invest in our longer term future than short term maybe. ray lewis is a great player. how much longer before he *was* a great player.

the problem we faced last year was getting all our "stars" to line up and play as one. you don't fix that by adding another volitale star to the mix. we don't lack in vocal nature, we lack in unison. i don't see how bringing on someone elses "answer" will be the same answer here.

i want to resign ware, get a solid safety, backup qb and address the OL. we can draft more ILB and or pick up another young promising vet.

i don't see how ray lewis would be the answer we need moreso than just another star lost in the milky way we already have.

So you wrote 'wants to' in the thread title and then immediately stated that he really said he wouldn't mind playing with him.

LOL.

The TFC is cracking more and more as the days go by.
:lmao2:

I think he wants to play side by side with Ed Reed more than he does Terrell Owens.

I think even at 34 that he's still got 2-3 years of high quality play left in him. He's a stud and he didn't seem to be slowing down any this year at 34. He's a leader, a great player, and it would be a nice addition to this team.

But I doubt he comes here cause he's doing to want, and get, a lot of money.

Totally agree. Our backup QB position is a joke, Ware must stay, our OL needs an overhaul, and yes we need a new safety.

Ray has more intensity in his left big toe than Canty, Spears, Ellis, Bradie and #38 combined.

You know my opinion on this one....it's in my sig.

The Patriots have been doing this for years and are pretty darn successful.

We need good solid veterens on this team that KNOW how to win. He may be old, but he can give us two good years....that's our window anyway IMO.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.....NOBODY on this team has ever won anything, and they don't know how to win. The only member who has won is Brad Johnson!

I'm not saying bring in old fogie's either. I'm saying sprinkle in a few good leaders that know what it takes to win!

Kurt Warner got Arizona over the top.
