Ray Sherman not returning

Thank you Ray Sherman for doing a fine job coaching the Cowboys receivers for the last 4 years. Good luck in the future. The truth about what happened may never come out, but regardless I'm on the Garrett bandwagon. Let him mold the coaching staff and team however he sees fit.

Everyone should brace themselves.

Seeing that there are very big changes that need to be made to this team, there are going to be alot of threads like this I bet.

IMO, this is just a normal change that happens among staffs with a new head coach.

I think there are really going to be some difficult changes among personel in the future, and seeing that there is a large contigent of people that dont like garrett and want him to fail be ready for everything he does to be labeled as a mistake.

its just the way it is going to go.

Sounds like Jason didn't like the way Sherman was a buffer between the WR's and himself and allowed them to vent to him aboutt Garrett and their disagreements with the offense.

I like Sherman but can't really fault JG since he probably wants his guys and this loyal to him and his plan.

I think you might have a good point there. The buck needs to stop in one place and it just might now....we'll see.

I think the majority just want Campo gone :)

Meh, I think its just bad because Sherman was a guy on most people's "keep" list.

If this was Campo or Houck it would mostly be "about time" posts.

I am like many on this thread.........I'm shocked! But it will be interesting to see who will be on the staff next year. I really hope JG has a good plan for getting quality coaches.

I like this move. Just for the fact it shows that the head coach is making the decisons now.

Exactly how does it show that? For all we know, Jones was the one who wanted him gone. Or Sherman didn't want to be in Dallas any longer.

I don't think there are that many that don't like Garrett. I think there are a lot of people that didn't like Garrett the OC, so it's natural to have doubts.
He now has his chance and he has a huge advantage going in. He should know what personnel moves need to be done, I doubt there will be any big surprises. He also shouldn't be given any passes with a healthy team.

What I am sick of already is the rainbow posters that want to examine his bowel movements and frame them.

Exactly Right.

What's amazing? That one of the better coaches we've seen in the last few years is just walking?

It's not like there are tons of quality coaches who are available. Why do you think people are hoping beyond all hopes that Bowles gets the DC shot.

Sherman was interviewed for HC and now were supposed to believe that an equal quality WR coach will be brought in just out of nowhere?

I think this is a big loss for Dallas whether anyone wants to admit it or not. Sherman was more than position coach.

He's gone now. He sucks:)

This will look real bad if Campo, Huock and Paul P retain their positions...In that, Garrett's retaining his buddies (even if they suck at their job) but dumping the people he doesn't like (who are good at their jobs)

That said, Garrett is the head coach now and should definitely be making his own staff. If he doesn't like the guy, he doesn't like him--and it's better that he leaves. I'm just shocked cause Sherman was one of our good coaches and meant alot to this team.

Sherman's the last coach I wanted gone, but he didn't do much for Roy Williams and the receivers had a heckuva habit of tipping balls to the DBs.

Great. So the staff will be Garret and family with one Phillips thrown in for good measure.
Premature evaluation strikes again.
