I hope you're wrong and that caller is right. though 10 mill a year is alot but i'd rather give him 10 mill a year than a wr who needs more passes thrown to him than anybody else to have top numbers. also wouldn't that be tampering?RoboQB;2652782 said:I live in MD. On 98 Rock (Ravens official radio) a caller who says he knows a person close to Ray told him that Dallas has a "done deal" with Ray... 3 yrs. 30 mil... The radio people hammered him and wanted to know the "source". (limo driver, janitor, Steve Biscotti(sp?)... they slammed him pretty good.) He told them that if he gave the guys occupation, they would know exactly who it was. He did say that he was one of many that Ray took to Hawaii as guests.
I realize this is the definition of "RUMOR". Some dude trying to get some attention. But he did say that he would give up the source after Friday.
The funny part was the number of messages that came after. Callers were saying BS because Dallas doesn't have the cap room for that. I too call BS.... and hope that I am right.

Bunting thinks Bart Scott will get big money.
I say draft one or two ILBs. The Cowboys need safety help, not a $25 million dollar aging, baby sitter, imo. It's a desperate move, imo.
Those dollars could be used on other players.
Hoofbite;2652813 said:As long as it works with the cap, I don't care what the hell Jerry spends. If Ware and the rest of the crew that Dallas wants to bring back are brought back and the team has left over money, why not?
If Jerry and Co. can make it work with the cap and not have to ditch on other players, I don't give a crap. In fact, if there was some way to make it work with the cap and have Jerry spend out the ***, I'd love it.
I'd love it because when the team folds again, I could at least take some gratification in knowing that Jerry spent so much money and got nothing.
Beast_from_East;2652808 said:Wouldnt that be tampering to already have a contract worked out???
The last thing we need is for the commish to take a pick for tampering.
Also, $10 mill per yr for a 34 yr old MLB is just freaking dumb.
Rampage;2652819 said:Ray can get players to play above there potential. samari Rolle and Fabian Washington were the starting corners for that team for most of the year including the playoffs. maybe Ray can make Garrett call plays above his potential and we might see some slants and screens next season
Ren;2652823 said:even though i don't think Ray Ray is a solution i would love to see the Roy38 Henry finger pointing blame game after a big play with Lewis roaming the sideline :laugh2:
that would be worth the price alone
theebs;2652710 said:stay tuned then.
fearing the unkown is part of the problem with this organization. Signing players in their mid 30s to big contracts is plain dumb.
SLATEmosphere;2652816 said:I agree. If we can get Ware,Ray and Miles all signed next year I really don't care. Ray's got 2 years left MAX then he's of the books..meanwhile our ILB that we draft this year can play third downs, get some reps and take over for Ray when he's gone.
Hostile;2652844 said:Ray Lewis plays the same position as Bradie James who had a monster year.
The Cowboys top priority is DeMarcus Ware. If they give Ray that kind of money it makes re-signing Ware a lot harder.
There are a lot of reasons to take this rumor with a grain of salt.
One reason to give it some credence is that Ray is great friends with Michael and Deion and they seem to be thinking he is coming.
