More likely he becomes a Jet than a Cowboy. The Cowboys just don't have the cash. Unless they pull something out of there hat, it's just not going to happen. Well, the only other option is if Ray takes a steel pay cut to play here. The trade off of the Jets and the Cowboys is probably money with the Jets and a chance to win it all with the Cowboys. Of course, he had a chance to win it all with the Ravens.

Ray Lewis plays the same position as Bradie James who had a monster year.

The Cowboys top priority is DeMarcus Ware. If they give Ray that kind of money it makes re-signing Ware a lot harder.

There are a lot of reasons to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

One reason to give it some credence is that Ray is great friends with Michael and Deion and they seem to be thinking he is coming.

I dunno if I'd say Bradie had a monster year.

Perhaps we'll see once we get a true NT, but never once when I watched him play did I say, "Man he is having a great year." He's just as inconsistent as the rest of that unit, with the exception of Ware and Rat.

8 sacks from ILB is a monster year. 3 forced fumbles, 116 tackles, 4 passes defensed.

He hardly was invisible.

He started out slow but towards the end of the year there wasn't very many LBs playing as well as James was

In defense of Hostile, if you look at the numbers, James at least equalled Lewis:

Tackles- James, 116 (80 solo) Lewis 117 (85solo)
Sacks- James-8, Lewis 3.5
Forced Fumbles- James-1, Lewis, 2
Ints- each had 3

I would like to have seen the TFL totals. And I agree that while James WANTS to lead, Lewis IS a leader. That is an intangible and can't be measured thru stats. One point to make is that James, 28, is more likely to match his totals than Lewis, 34.

I will root for the Cowboys either way.

I'm one of the bigger James haters and have to admit he played better towards the end of the year.

For some reason, I don't think that will be a problem IF Ray some how makes it on to the Cowboys roster.

i really think jerry sees ray as his modern michael irvin. if you asked jerry who was the most important player on the 3 SB teams, he wouldn't say troy or emmitt he would say michael for his can heart and passion. jerry think ray can fill that void. i still don't know if we can do it financially but IMO jerry wants to do it.

I'm actually a James Hater too, but it isn't because of his play. I don't like his attitude.

Nailed it.

Guessing conservatively, I'm thinking with Lewis on the team LAST year, Dallas wins 2 or 3 more games. Put it this way, we would not have lost a home game, in my opinion. He may have found a way to light a fire for the Rams game as well.......If and buts , I know.

Bradie James, by the way, played lights out during the last six weeks or so. I'd say after the Giants loss, he really turned up his play and tried to lead.

Ditto. Too much talk for what he actually does. He thinks he's a leader, I don't see it.

If you ignore the negatives and focus on the "NUmbers" then he had a "Monster" year.

When you factor in the negatives, he had a solid year. Nothing more.

Exactly.

I don't think it would be too difficult for them to find a spot for Ray Lewis. I'm guessing - and this is just my opinion here so I could be completely wrong - they'd probably have him play the OTHER ILB spot right next to Bradie James.

Again, that's just my opinion.

And yes, this post is dripping with sarcasm.

Come on Mr.Hess, please dont let me down. Sign this blowhard and never allow his named to be mentioned with this team again.

I'm with you. Please let Lewis sign somewhere other than Dallas.

Bingo. Patrick Willis had worse numbers, but was clearly the better LB.

Hopefully this news entices the Ravens to hurry and sign him. He is a good player and is overrated at the sametime. Also loudmouth, pregame dancer doesnt mean team leader in my book.

Bradie had a great year! He has finally came into his own. It just goes to show you how long it takes for most LB's to learn the NFL. If he could only keep his yapper shut!

I like the sound of Spencer, James, Lewis, and Ware for the next two years!

If we could only find that 450lb NT though!

Yeah. And Woody Johnson gives the Jets an even better shot at getting Ray because he's like Jerry Jones in that he wants to bring in big names so he fills up the stadium seats.

He will offer Ray more money if it comes down to the Cowboys and Jets.

woody johnson, how did I forget this.

I really think I am getting alzheimers.
