Ray Lewis at age 34 is not as good as Bradie James at age 28.

Someone is freakin' delusional.

Ray Lewis at 108 would be better then Bradie James at 28.

I'm speaking negative about Bradie more in the context of him being equivalent to Ray Lewis. It isn't even close. Otherwise, he had a great year when Wade took over. Ray with Wade though, would be a different story, simply because Lewis is a much better coverage LB that Bradie, and he still can get pressure. He has the intangibles of being a leader and has a real nasty edge that this teams needs. He also is an incredibly smart LB.

That's why bringing him in would be great for this team.

Ray knows how to look at game film. If he can pass that knowledge to a D. Ware, Ratliff, or even some of these Defensive rookies. That would make Lewis a valuable asset.

-Ray Lewis is better leader than Bradie James no question. What it boils down to is if he can play football better and the answer is a resounding no. It's 2009, not 2000.

- A lot of these guys are near 30 years old, if they can't decipher game film at this point there's no hope.
- :lmao2:@ the idea that Ray Lewis is going to magically fix this team's "chemistry/locker room/heart/whatever mumbo jumbo" issues. You listen to a guy like Bradie James talk and you can already tell they don't and won't get it. Coaching and organzational changes are the only things that will fix this team. If/when Ray comes here he'll figure that out pretty quick, give up, and become a check collector. And he won't take a bit of flack because of it. He's earned his keep in this league.

Bradie is just coming around, mainly because Zach was embarrassing him, but I have my doubts with not having somebody challenge him on the roster.

Bradie's had one bad year since he's been a featured player. He was a machine off the bench in 2005, 2006 is the year people keep harping back to, but he came right back in 2007 and played a lot better. I don't get this Zach Thomas "pushed him" talking point.

if we draft a real NT than both would be maximized. so we should sign a 34 year old ILB and than trade the only other ILB we have? you're acting kinda batty right now.

Cowboys are going to draft ILBs anyway. Lewis is going to play at least another 2 years. That's 2+ years to find/groom a replacement.

Besides, James will not be able to co-exist w/Ray Lewis. James has more than a little Brian Stewart in him. James has already stated that there is no room for more "egos" on the team (this is his response to the Ray Lewis to Dallas rumors). James will not relinquish his role (on or off the field), even if it will help the team.

Plus, playing 2 SILBs at the same time is not a solution. Do you think Ray is going to play out of position AND only 2 downs (like Zach)?

bradie james in 2005 led the team in tackles with 109, he was the leading tackler in 7 of 16 games, and was third on the team with 4 tackles for losses, he had 2.5 sacks, He called the defensive signals in the huddle, he also had 4 pass breakups and 2 qb pressures.. All in his first season as a starter, in a new 3-4 defense.
And Pro Reference has him at 73 tackles, one more than Roy Williams, who was playing cover-2 a lot of time. The guy made tackles after the RB was breaking the line of scrimmage. Yeahhh!!!Bradie James is awesome... 4 tackles for a loss, and 2 QB pressures is good? 2.5 sacks in one year is good? Exactly my point, which is the guy got no pressure on the QB. Like I said, people are crazy if they think the performance of Bradie was NOT on Wade. Wade can make average players look good on defense and Wiley was one of them. This doesn't mean I think we should get rid of James. Like I said, as long as Wade is coach, he will do just fine. It doesn't mean he is suddenly the next coming of Singletary.
