Times have changed & again you can spank a child without leaving injuries. The story said he came home to his mom with injuries.

Indictment doesn't equal guilt. Just ask the Governor.

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted by a Montgomery County, Texas, grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child, according to multiple media reports .

Montgomery County sheriff investigators said they received the case earlier this year and that Peterson has been cooperative with them. The Montgomery County District Attorney's office told ESPN that Peterson has not been arrested.

Peterson practiced Friday with the Vikings, who play host to the Patriots on Sunday.

Last October Peterson's 2-year-old son died in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after being allegedly assaulted by a man who was dating the boy's mother. Peterson learned only two months earlier that he was the boy's father. The man who assaulted the boy, Joseph Robert Patterson, was charged with murder and manslaughter.

Peterson reflected on his loss in an August interview with ESPN.com Vikings reporter Ben Goessling.

"It's just made me stop taking things for granted," said Peterson, who turned 29 in March. "Life is short. You never know. You just want to take advantage of the time you do have."

Its his league and its just feeding a perception that isnt good right now. It falls right in his lap, so yea, I'd say it has a lot to do with him.

You've got the Goodell handling of the elevator video which highlights spousal abuse.

Jerry and his strippers.

Now another NFL employee/player/big name indicted for beating a kid.

I dont think Jerrry will want to bring AP to Dallas in the future. :D

I suppose the staff is responsible for the behavior of the membership then.

Keep this thread on topic and all the nonsense out of it and it will stay open.

Said on nfln that he was disciplining him with a switch. Something his father did to him and he thought it was acceptable.

Saw it on yahoo. This would be an interesting case for the NFL to deal with.

The evidence was presented to a grand Jury who failed to indict, apparently they believed it didn't rise to abuse so why are these charges brought forth now.....might be more of a political charge!

Nothing wrong with a swat on the behind with a paddle or something similar(as long as it's not excessive), hell even strangers(teachers/principals) are allowed to discipline a child by giving them swats on the behind. If it was simply a case of the kid acting out, and Peterson giving the child a swat or two (not beating) then I see nothing wrong this. I heard it was his ex-wife who accused Peterson of this by going to the police, something seems fishy and I bet it's not Peterson.

Now that AP is in trouble, how can Jerra resist his entreaties/desire to join the cowboys.
Jerra loves bad boys.

I can tell you as a mandatory reporter in two states (neither of which are Texas) it is pretty difficult to get to this point. You don't get indicted without some pretty hardcore evidence in the form of bruising, welts, or some other form of evidence. I highly doubt he sees some time for this, but it could alter when and where he sees his child and if it is supervised.
