RB coach telling Moore keep pounding inside

,,,if you watch the Sounds of the game for this week. You can see and hear RB coach telling Moore keeping pounding inside. That their playing Sam and whatnot. Moore of course being young and impressionable obviously listens to this guy.

..this is disturbing, for the last 2 weeks there has been no advantage running inside. Whether they are running Sam, Jim or Bill. I hope Moore stops listening to this guy and just follows his gut.

Disagree and you may not have the entire context from that short sound bite. Zeke's carries were way down and Daks, attempts/yards way up. I think the coaching staff realizes that we don't have to rely on Zeke pounding all game anymore evidenced at how the game played out.

Brown is just an continuation of the puppet strings that are attached to Red! You can't tell me you can't see it right? Brown is there to not threaten Garrett, but only to give some fake coach speak. The problem with this though is that Kellen doesn't know if or how he should block it out. The whole coaching tree is convoluted and Brown is an absolute extension of the sickness. In regards to Kellen Moore, even though he is part of the dysfunction there is a good chance that he rises from the ashes. After all, he is not part of the Garrett cabal but more of a linehan guy. I'm honestly fine with Kellen, he has done some amazing things with this offense while maneuvering the chaos.

Watching that video is sickening though it you stop to think about it. Listening to Brown put words in the backs heads like "keep pounding it up the middle" is giving them a false sense of importance because lets be honest, they aren't helping much at all.

I think there may be several coaches that will need to be evaluated and decisions made if some re-planning needs to happen or if need to be a total overhaul, going in a different direction period,

- The Special teams coach is definitely one that needs evaluation.

- The DL coach has looong been needed evaluation and to be addressed.

- But RB coach Gary Brown just hollering out “there ya go, run the middle” doesn’t sound like he trying to tell Moore what to do as a play caller, that could be very much
just sideline “rah-rah “ for all we know.

I would think Brown is going to be evaluated how he has developed the skills of all the backs, and how he graded out their assignments, not just zeke, but same with Pollard,
same with Jamele Olawale,...

I would think Gary Brown can ‘suggest “ how we best need to try to run the RBs, in according to what are their plus and minuses and what plays; run or catch, work best for these backs.
when I’ve observe the current and past RBs, it seems the Cowboys try to get RBs that all have a similar style of running in accordance to what Brown prefers – one cut, north-south running style.
Zeke is that kind of runner, ditto for Pollard, Mike Weber, Chung, etc.
Not an overly shifty backs that waste a lot of motion in how he reads, gets to the hole and runs off blocks.

What I would still like to really find our for sure, with RB Gary Brown is;
A) if Brown could have had any “tinkering” in re-coaching zeke’s one cut-and burst running style and training him to be more hesitate (patient ?) more Levion Bell-like in an effort to run in late developing
holes ?
B) could Brown have had a say in re-training and preparing zeke’s body and frame in bulking up, in an effort to equip him to become more of a grind-pounder for a bigger, heavier more touches load ?

Its totally guess work on my part, and maybe I am overly paranoid and suspicious about this, but the mysterious lack-loss of burst and splash plays from Zeke’s game for a guy
that is only 24 years old, only played 4 years in the NFL, and has been extremely durable with no major injuries to dae ,, to suddenly become " pedestrian " ?

Doesn’t matter. New coaching regime next season will be making these decisions

You can call the play run between the tackles all day long. If the running back chooses to Bounce It Outside whose fault is that

Dunno if there will be a new coaching regime or not..... Jerry may be so impressed with how Kitna ,Moore have well developed Dak's game en route to his improvement and
may play a big impact on any possible coaching changes (or non-changes) in the coaching staff.

Jerry may be very safe and resistant in changing something that has changed the course in how this team now plays the game as we are much better passing team than a zeke led offense.
And Dak's mechanics, reads, accuracy, release is vastly more improved than it was in past years.

The advantage is setting up the play action pass and wearing the DL down. Not all run plays are expected to go for 15 yards.

That guy brown is a complete fool. Has no idea how to coach. Just listening to the guy talk is difficult.

..I get same feeling. He sounds like my HS coach. Im not a football Guru in the least. But I would expect to hear different things being in the NFL level.

The best was in lasts weeks Sounds of he game" he's calling Zeke and Pollard "legends"
He's the anti-Parcells.

Found the moment he said it :banghead:. Moore was looking at him as if he was God. They're influencing him too much :banghead:.

That was a funny damn clip!

As for the chopping wood thing, he was saying they need to just keep taking a piece at a time until the tree falls. A pretty good analogy, I think.

Agree with this post 100%. There are too many comfort hires on this staff.

..funny thing is in the last 2 wks those trees aint falling...lol.. ;)...

Can’t abandon our identity. We need to reestablish our running game, if we want prolonged success this year. Gotta have some balanced. We can’t neglect Zeke out the gameplan. The run coach wasn’t wrong.
Giving him ample carries out of the gate should always be part of the plan but by the 4th qtr, you should know if he's killing it or not. If it's not working don't beat a dead horse.
