Practice Squad RB Israel Abanikanda signed to the practice squad

Looking for a Rb and drafting BPA are polar opposites.
No, bro. BPA literally stands for "best player available."

So, that means the best player of ANY position. And for the record, I'm not in to RB, LB, TE or S in the first, typically. I'd make exception for a few guys.

Plus, I said we should go after RB and LB in FA since they have relatively low value, but can have high production. Then we should targert premium positions (CB, EDGE, etc) in the draft.

Basically, I'm saying what you're trying to say...

now eight pages on a player being put over on the practice squad. Must be a slow week lol.
He was a very good prospect. Many had him being drafted in the 3rd. He was only 20 when he was drafted. If you follow the draft, you would know why there's some chatter after he landed here.

Not a bad PS signing.

You missed my point we're over here having too long a conversation for someone who's just on the practice squad you want a big move somehow they cut a player that surprises us and move him to the active roster that's the story he's not even protected on the practice squad he could be taken from someone else...

Yeah but that's different for every team it's evolved over the years that's not how teams set that up their big board they set it up first by biggest position of need and the best player available at your biggest position of need is typically how teams are going to do it unless there's some kind of generational can't miss type of guy that you already have too many of but you know what I can't pass up on it and you're right at a very key position..

Cowboys typically get that right whether it's the right player or not I think they have a good feel for who to take at what position and which ones to get later..

Last year's board was perfect their top three choices were number one TET the receiver he was already gone Their second choice was between Booker and Nolan you know The three tech maybe could be a hybrid..

all three at the time were big needs at key positions. Where I sit when one's gone and now it's between Booker and Nolan they made the right choice...

If no one would have been injured earlier in the year we'd have a better sample size to compare him besides what he did against us at in that one game it was just one play We could have took no one and I'm betting we could have rolled with Bass or Hoffman at left guard and been fine but they were looking at it further down the line..

But they still filled their biggest need at a key position That is why they also pass up on a guy like Warren even though we could have used a tight end they are comfortable with our tight ends even though none of them are special....

A lot of people on here that still said we should have picked Patrick Queen I think his name is or we should have went with Warren and I think that's just a bad way to look at it from the fan perspective..

Yeah hindsight now and I still think we made the right choices in the top three rounds still a lot of things to be determined when you see how long their careers are but I think the Cowboys have a good grip on what to do in the draft and they will take a key position at BPA but they will not take BPA if it's a quarterback probably not if it's a tight end definitely not a running back If they don't have George Pickens it will be a wide receiver that depends on if they get a number one for Pickens or does he stay that's still out there...

But I know one thing they will not take another offensive lineman in the top three rounds The fact that we don't even have a second and 3rd rounder I believe well that's easy for me to say right now...lol

Sorry, it's not. If you're looking for a RB you're not looking to draft BPA.

What's with first naming your kid after a country, i.e., Israel! Maybe I shouldn't complain since no one I know is first and middle named Gobbler's Knob, a park in Pennsylvania; or Dildo, a type of row boat in Newfoundland, Canada.

So far in the NFL, teams that covet great RBs have had him on the roster and he's never stuck. As a pro, he's been cut because you can't trust him in pass pro and when he's out there, he's fumbling. He was supposed to be a returner as well, but the fumlbes....

The positive: He runs well, low to the ground, and is explosive as an elite RB. He compares to Bijan Robinson athletically (RAS), but has been a numbskull on the field so far in the NFL.

Not trying to hate, but he's got football smarts issues, and needs to figure out blitz pick-up, and HAS to stop fumgling. He's all-purpose run-catch guy otherwise. I hope wises up, because if he does he'll produce with his physical gifts.

I don’t know if any of the specific criticisms are true, but what I do know is that he’s been cut from three different teams now in his short career. That’s telling.

Yeah, I hope he figures out the mental side. He could be seriously dangerous if he does.

We've been good at stashing no-names on the PS and developing them, and Abanikanda was at least drafted (5th round). Dowdle and Davis took time, but they have produced when called upon.

OK, but he's on our PS. So that means we have him right now. Malik Davis was also PS.
