You have to love this quote from Gosselin's recent article:

"The trio cracked the top 20 on the Cowboys board. Club officials say it was Gregory (No. 4), Collins (early teens) and Jones (No. 20)."

I doubt anyone has ever landed 3 "blue chip" players in 1 draft.

Not when they started the draft with just 1 first round pick, 1 second and 1 third... and didn't trade any players or next year's picks.

I have seen some pretty nice hauls, but it is always because they started the draft with multiple first round picks... or they traded next year's first round pick... or they traded a pro bowl player (like Jimmy Graham to Seattle).

Never have I seen a team have 1 first, 1 second, 1 third, 1 fourth, 1 fifth, and 2 sevenths... and end up with 3 top 20 picks. They didn't even have to trade up at all.

Getting Jones was very nice at 27. He could have gone a good bit higher.

Getting the best edge rusher in the draft at 60 was unbelievable. Even with his off the field issues, 60 was way too low for a guy with his ability.

Getting Collins as an UDFA goes well beyond any word I can use to describe it. The only word I can think of is luck. Blind luck, and Jerry's salesmanship.

The only high round miss the Cowboys have had since 2010 is Morris Claiborne and that was, IMO, Jerry's fault. He just couldn't pass up a cheap trade up, even though they hadn't done their due diligence on Claiborne.

But, Jerry made up for it with his quick strike to get Collins.

A fantastic haul, even if no other player hits except for Jones, Gregory, and Collins. If Green or Wilson hit too, it will be franchise altering fantastic. It might already be come to think of it.

If you take Gregory at 4, Collins at 13, and Jones at 20 and average that out... the average on all 3 would be rated 12th , lol.

What a draft.

Not since the great Walker trade robbery has my 'dropped jaw syndrome' been so pronounced
It's almost unfair!...yuk yuk yuk

For a Fan to criticize the Front Office for the 2015 OffSeason and Draft, is just a Bi-Polar and Manic put on.

Grade A and Plus + .....because it was likely the biggest OffSeason haul in the entire League since the Herschel Walker Trade.

Not only did they just have 1 first round pick, 1 second, and 1 third, but these were picks at the end of the rounds. It would be very unlikely that you could duplicate their results even if you have the top pick in each of the first three rounds. To achieve the success they had picking near the end of each round is winning the lottery type of fortune.

True.

Had they had the first pick in each round... I bet they would have gotten 4 first round picks, lol.

Dallas has had some great drafts in the last few years, I hope the trend keeps going that way.

I bet that 3 years from now, if this draft were redone, all three guys go in the top 20.

Hell, I bet if it were redone tomorrow they would.
