Re-sign Robinson

I know I'll get ripped for this but what about signing Robinson and trading Dez?

I'm afraid Dez may never live up to expectations but right now would command great trade value. Trading Austin IMO won't get us enough value back. Part of me wants to sign Robinson and trade Dez for draft picks.

I'm not saying this is the right move just throwing it out there...

I see the other side too....Dez becomes perennial Pro Bowler and dominates and we traded him away.

I just cannot get the other possibility out of my mind: all the talent in the world but never fully realizes his potential and we didn't move him when we could get great value. I'm also somewhat concerned that with his aggressive style of play he could end up with a shorter career.

Keep 'em both. Today's NFL has (by design) transitioned to the multiple WR offense. This isn't your grandfather's NFL anymore.

Bull, he's not going to get that much and the whole time you typed that you more worried about how it effects Austin and the fact that Robinson by far was the best WR on this team this year.

Yes he was.

I'm dead serious when I say I would entertain offers for Austin.

Although trades for WRs don't net a whole lot usually, if someone offered a late 1st rounder, I'd jump.

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Been seeing a lot of idiots on the Falcons, Rams and Chargers board berating LRob all season long. My wish is for him to not make this about money and resign with Dallas. Sometimes if the situation is right, it's just right.

Robinson has gotten a bum rap in ATL, not saying he didn't produce but he caught passes from 4 different QBs, had two different HC and OC's. In addition to the injuries.

Got to STL and had Bulger and a bunch of journeymen QB's, injuries and his 3rd HC in 4 seasons.

SD didn't really give him a shot until the 4th game of preseason where he shined.

Dallas has been a blessing. A veteran QB, and a team not afraid to throw him the ball even though it still had Witten, Bryant, Austin and a decent running game.

Hope he stays and finds some stability finally, even as the 3rd WR he's shown he can still be productive with limited touches.

11 touchdowns in a season when he didn't even see the field for the first 4 games. Big target, good hands, good speed. Why in the hell wouldn't we sign him?

That would be perfect, i would do that deal in less than a second.

If Dallas would have drafted Denarius Moore, in round 5, like they should have, they would have some leverage and security against Robinson striking pay dirt. He's been a nice find, but over paying for him would be not very smart.

The deals to Ratliff, Scandrick, and Sensabaugh do make me wonder if Robinson gets over-paid here. I sure hope it's not in Dallas. I'd like to keep him, but how much money are you going to spend at WR.

Dallas needs interior offensive blockers, just like you point out. Obviously, the defense is in complete shambles.

Look at Doug Free... Now, he's over-paid, too. He's probably headed back to RT, so hopefully he can turn it around.
Dallas should of drafted Moore, the safety the Broncos took in the second, who started the whole year instead of Carter, and someone else instead of Arkin. Carter may very well pan out, but this team needed help this year, not an injured player. Arkin will never be an NFL player, a wasted pick, IMO.

I have said it all along, Robinson was out most productive find and a must to resign, but we will be told that we don't him because Ogletree will be ready to step up. And people will rejoice about it.

We're all disgusted right now. Nobody more than me. I hate the vagiants more than anyone and I live in nj. Right now im trying to remove myself from the disappointment and focus on some good things that occurred this year. Murray and Smith were excellent rookies. Lee is a player. Romo, Ware, and Witten are still great players. Jenkins looks like his old self. And the best FA find was Laurent Robinson. This guy is clutch. He has excellent hands and has the best rapport on the field with our QB. I trust him more than miles or dez. Romo trusts witten and u see how important it is for this team. If we let him go we will regret it. We have plenty of holes to fill on D and on the OL. I hope we dont create another hole by not re-signing this important player.

I agree but with a modest contract , he is still our 3rd wide. If someone wants to give him anumber two job and number two money then we can't overpay. Too much money is being put into our wr's already.

The guy played really well this season and may cost us to being able to keep him. Bet money that a team will pursue him and offer him #2 money

I wonder why people keep saying he is our #3 WR when he has overplayed Dez and Miles, while also having the best chemistry with Romo.
