One thing that really stood out was the sloppiness by this team, and the amount of turnovers we committed. My goodness we were a sloppy mess and we were lucky to come out on top on both.
Turnovers in the first two games
First Game
-Cole Beasley fumble returned for a touchdown right before half time
-Interception returned for a touchdown because Street couldn't hold on to the ball
-Interception because of poor option route timing from Romo to Witten
The Giants had 26 points in total. 17 of those came from mindless, boneheaded plays
Second Game
-Tony Romo fumbles in the infamous collarbone injury play.
-Gavin Escobar fumbles in the fourth quarter, only to get it back on the very next play because the Eagles are .....well.....the eagles
I'm not predicting doom and gloom for this team like most people here. I think this team is capable of winning 11-12 games, but I think they end somewhere 9 or 10 wins. However, we simply cannot start out sloppy. It has nothing to do with just turnovers, but that means more possessions for our defense, meaning more chances of injury on Lee, Claiborne, Scandrick etc.. If this team is going to win anything, this team has to be more efficient and frankly...smarter. I feel as though this team seems to find itself around 3rd or 4th game of the regular season as oppose to taking meaningful practices during pre-season. I know we want to protect our starters, but at what expense?
