I know what you're saying, but for me the happiest part is that he stayed true to himself and didn't follow someone else's dreams. I know, sounds corny. Kind of reminds me a lot of a local new anchorman here where I live that left his position as a well known and popular TV figure to be a Medic in the Army a few years ago. He did a full enlistment, served a full combat tour in Afghanistan or Iraq (can't remember which) and then returned to the station he worked for before.
I have a lot of respect for people like that. Not a lot of people would have the conviction and personal integrity that they showed. Most would sell out for the celebrity life/money.
