I'll predict it right here. AND I HOPE I'M WRONG, but I don't think I will be.

Wade stays, Garrett gets fired, Jerry stays as "football guy".

With the way the defense turned it around, I'd rather see Wade here than Garrett.

No, Wade gets canned. Garrett stays. If we can't find a good HC, Garrett gets the jobs and a few years to grow into it.

This is Sean Payton all over again. Let's not get down on Red too early.

Garrett absolutely SUCKED this year. Everyone that has watched knows this.

Yes I do, and with T.O. and Romo throwing Garrett under the bus you can bet the owner has already heard it.

This allows Jerry to satisfy the desire for blood letting on the part of the fans and media.

It allows Jerry to keep his wimpy little puppet of a head coach in place.

It allows Jerry to sell the idea of "something different" as he heads into his new palace.

I hope I'm wrong because I believe the answer is to fire Phillips, bring in a real head coach, put him IN CHARGE and let him hire his own staff, but I'm predicting this will be what you see.

I just can't see JJ keeping Wade and much of the coaching staff.

For the amount of talent on this team, they underperformed possibly the worst of ANY Cowboys team in history. And we've got a pretty long history.

IMO, Wade isn't going to get this team to play more disciplined, less sloppy, more focused, and with more urgency.

I think JJ needs to go in another direction.

I think the only way JJ would keep Wade is if other candidates weren't available.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part . . . . I don't know.

But I don't see Wade as the longer-term answer here.

I saw that and I agree with you completely. With that loser mentality at the QB position (which mirrors his head coach), we are doomed.

The way the defense turned it around tonight? Are you saying that with a straight face or with a forked tongue?

I'd say 1996 and 1997 were bigger disappointments. Those were championship-experienced teams with Hall of Famers at key positions still in their primes.

This was just a talented team with a quarterback who still hasn't learned what it takes to win a championship.

The defense played very well through the first quarter...the offense doing nothing took the life out of them. I know theres 60 minutes in a game blah blah blah...this defense is still strong and, like it or not, is the only reason this game matters.

The offense has been our problem for the last 10 weeks.

I can't blame Romo completely. He's made mistakes. He also the reason why we win as well. I think the Offensive scheme sucks. Every week I see the same junk from this offense.

I'm pretty confident that Garrett will stick around for another year. Should he?? I don't know but Jerry basically hand picked him, he's going to give him another shot.

I was thining the same thing. Why fire Wade if it was the offense that collapsed and the defense acutally kept the playoff hopes alive. BUT, Wade the defensive coordinator and playcaller would be great. Wade the coach is a joke> His lack of fire is obviously trickling down through the team. I certainly don't want Garrett back period!

Not just that. But that's a key component needed, for sure.

If we were to win -- or even compete -- for a championship this season, Romo needed to take that next step, whether any or all of the other elements were there. But he didn't.

...I was thinking of those years as well, but I gave this season the nod based on the quality of the coaching staff and what I expected out of them.

I expected them to build on the 13-3 season with a much younger talent base.

They all stay and we go 9-7 or 10-6 again next yr, and continue to look like a hodge-podge of a team that makes stupid mistakes, cant tackle worth a damn and gets outplayed badly in crunch time.
