Reality check for some

I wondered if it had something to do with the muffed punts in that game. Jones bumped him on the first one. The second one was just a mistake. Up until then he played very well. You could see all the air come out of his sails after that. It’s hard to get field time as a rook. JG is terrible about getting certain ones snaps. Look at Rico. He and Swaim is the best we have at TE.
Spot on, Glimm. Obviously, it takes several game screwups and poor roster decision making for Garrett and his coaching staff to get ot right.

What I don’t get is that Lenoir is as good as the other WR. He made 1 mistake and likely wasn’t going to be our return guy anyways. I think the staff is missing the bus on him. Thompson is doing nothing right now. Not sure if Thompson plays ST well or not?

Erik Williams and Nate Newton were known as one of the best downfield blocking tandems of all time.
On pulls..not on screens...It was laughable how bad that team was on screens. Like it became a running joke with Brad Sham and the radio broadcasts. It was even to the point there was discussions on sports radio about whether it was because of how Aikman threw the ball or Emmitt's positioning all sorts of crazy discussions.

The problem is that the coaches know this works, but keep deviating from it because they want Dak learning their system rather than adapting their system to the QB's skillset. The coaches have a super tough time adapting to changing times.

I'm not sure it's the coaches deviating or Dak. I've noticed in some games Dak has almost refused to take off, preferring to make a bad throw instead. He needs to realize that running is his best weapon to beat a blitz. He does it enough, and defenses will have to worry more about him as a runner.

I honestly believe its someone in the front office (Stephen or Jerruh) saying they dont like seeing their QB running around after seeing Romo go down so many times...

I think its Garrett or Linehan saying to hell with it if its there take it! (see jags, and giants game this year as proof of it working) (also see the panthers, seahawks, texans as games we sucked as Dak stuck around the pocket too long and sacks himself)

I believe 6'5" rookie WR Cedrick Wilson would have been playing much better than Hurns has shown so far. Remember, Cedrick Wilson was tearing it up in training camp prior to injuring his shoulder. What a shame. Looking forward to seeing him next year.

As for Hurns, he's a bust. A JAG. I would rather take a chance with practice squad WR Lance Lenoir than Allen Hurns.

I'm surprised at how poorly Hurns is playing. He's underplaying his track record in the league. I wouldn't count on Cedrick being better, but based on this year, Cedrick is more likely to be here next year.

They picked a bad example for their point. I don't think Tony ever got hurt past the LOS. He got killed in the pocket.

Dak could have gotten hurt on one play where he was tackled from behind and bent awkwardly. I'm pretty sure that was a scramble and not a designed run. Other than that, he takes fewer hits, and less dangerous ones, IMO, when he runs.

Although he did do a somersault into the end zone. I'm fine with cutting back on those.

In my estimate, runs are *less* likely to get Dak hurt than passes.

History shows that it's the coaches. They have constantly deviated from what works since 2008 or so.

It was declared it was due to the OL not being quick enough. That is false.
