The good points this season: While it's early, looks like we've found our QB of the future in Tony Romo. I didn't see the game cause in Tampa area we got to watch Bucs vs Saints (latter is real good team and shouldn't be considered by anyone as a gimme game for us). We also seem to have found our starting C in Gurode (still makes mistakes tho), Colombo at RT (still makes mistakes but despite time in NFL is essentialy still a rookie in playing terms) & even Kosier is better then I thought he'd be).
I think that about covers the good points, but then we are 4-4 and frankly are medoicre right now. Our team occasionally plays well (Carolina for example) and thens stinks it up at other times--unfortunately way too often. We are undisciplined and make too many mistakes costing ourselves games we could have/should have won.
We've got 8 games left and could win 6 of them to end up with 10-6 record & make the playoffs. But let's be realistic. We haven't won 2 games in a role this season including loss to Skins who we picked to beat & winning 2 in a role is prerequisite to make the playoffs, but reality says we won't do anything in the playoffs anyway.
Given the way we've played this season, and certainy our defense hasn't played the way we hoped (where's our QB pressure & why do we keep giving up big pass play?), it pains me to say this team--unless there is a drastic attitude change--will be lucky to go 9-7 & 8-8 is real possibility. Don't get me wrong. I'm not jumping off the ship; I'm a long time Cowboy fans and will always watch every Cowboy game and cheer every happening. BUT all our happy scenarios won't change reality. As Parcells says, we are what our record says we are. Maddening mediocre but with a heck more talent then that. Who we would believed we be at this point midway in the season!
