Ware, Ellis, Newman, Canty....4 players that are playing at a very high level on defense...now if we could get a few more we will be dominant even against the pats...maybe henry and hamlin can step it up...

As well as Spears has been playing, especially the past couple of games, i wouldn't mind an upgrade at his spot..... not to say that he sucks but if we can upgrade then why not?

If Fergy comes back 100% healthy and Tank keeps improving then we will have our NT rotation set. Which means Ratliff will need to be moved to another spot to start. Wade has repeatedly said that he knew that Ratliff was a starter before the season even started, just didn't know where. Fergy's injury made that decision easy for him but if/when Fergy comes back and with Tank on the roaster, Ratliff might just take over Spears spot as a starter. I personally wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

Spears is solid but a DL lineup of Ratliff, Fergy, and Canty will cause havoc to opposing teams. The question is what will happen to Spears? Will he back up Ratliff? if so What happens to Hatcher (one of my pet players)? He is not going anywhere so would he be moved to RDE and take over the backup spot from Coleman? etc........

It sure is a nice problem to have.......:)

I think this guy is starting to truely dominate the game much of the way we hoped that Spears would. Every time I looked up today Canty was in the QB or RB's face. If he can keep that going that will definitely be an added boost as Tank gets his legs under him.
Because he CAN CAN CAN-TY!!

I wonder how much of what we got to see yesterday was the benefits of having Tank in the middle. Canty looked great! Both power and speed were there. I hope having a stronger presence in the middle frees Canty (and Spears) up to really show off what we've thought they're REALLY capable off.

It's comin' together!

I thought yesterday was Canty's best game since we drafted him...I hope he shows up big the rest of the yr too...I thought Hatcher looked more active yesterday too...its too bad he was injured in TC, I really think the hammy thing has bothered him all yr

but like Sarge said, it was the Jets...they dont exactly bring memories of the 92/93 Dallas OL's, they are average at best...next week is a big test

I believe people should give sportingnews alot of props on Chris Canty, why?, because of how accurate their report on Canty was, and not only that his comparison was to Richard Seymore, DE, Patriots......

In my own opinion, I believe with his size and abilities to get after the quarterback consistently, stopping the run, and getting through the defenders really gives us that dominator that we didn't have since Ed "Too Tall" Jones in the doomsday defense.

Someone mentioned him briefly above, but he deserves more praise. I'm talking about Jay Ratliff. He's been playing lights out. Especially considering he's playing a position he's not use to playing. He may be playing as well as anyone on the defense. He deserves a lot of credit.

Ratliff has been great. Wade mentioned something a little interesting a week or so ago about how they thought Ratliff might start this season, but didn't think it would be at nose tackle. Tells me they thought he could supplant Spears in all probability, which says more about Jay than anything. The guy moved into an entirely different position and is still playing at a very high level.

The problem is, you don't always tell the truth, just misguided opinion which you perceived them as being true.

There are whispers that debrick is soft, not a physical NFL Tackle. Word is he may be nothing more than an average player, not a bust but not a dominant player.

that was the knock on him coming out of college
