Reasons for no hope in 2009

There is a thread opposite of this one. I still have hope and pray to god they prove me wrong. Hopefully sooner than later. But up until now I don't see how.
10.)Not a single playoff win since 1396, oh excuse me 1996. Sorry it just seems that long.
9.)Not a single winning December since before the first coming.
8.)The cowboys havn't won a regular season finale since the day before forever.
7.)I really don't think this team has it in them to go all the way. Maybe they get tired or worn our or whatever but hey thats the NFL it's a man's league. As Jimmy once said "whenever you go after a big gorilla you don't ever hit him lightly you hit em with everything you got." Does this team have that mentality? I have yet to see they do.
6.)Way too many distractions and question marks.
5.)Name one thing that will make me believe this team is a super bowl contender next year. You can't. Whatever you say isn't going to convince me. Had they won a playoff game and gotten to the nfc title game or divisional round then yes I would be convinced. But we all know what happened. The "most talented team" couldn't even make the playoffs.
4.)We have an unproven quarterback and an unproven Head Coach. Romo's attitude and dimples and lucky go attitude was fine at first but now it's annoying. It's win or get heavily critisized by press, media and the fans.
3.)This team is nothing but a tease. They will win in September, October, and November and have us all saying how great they are. How talented they are. WOW! Great offense. WOW! we're 7-1 or whatever the record is by then. Yet, when push comes to shove they dissapoint us.
2.)This team has no guts,no passion, no focus, no intensity, no coconuts, no leadership, no commitment, no dedication, no mental toughness, absolutely nothing. Neither the coaches or the players(most not all) have all that.
1.)Jerry is still the owner. As long as he is the boys will not win another championship. He got lucky with Jimmy and he knows it. He may not admit it but deep down he knows it.He needs to look ar Rooney and see how a franchise is supposed to be runned.

Ofcourse all this is simply my opinion. But it's the way I feel. I'm sure I will get praised and at the same time get way more critisizm but I don't care. The cowboys are unproven and until they have proved themselves as a legitimate Super Bowl contender I will not have any confidence whatsoever. Hope yes, confidence no. And your talking to a cowboy obsessor. I'm totally obsessed with this team.You have no idea how much.

Jerry Jones ...... he is the absolute worst person on the face of the planet.

He has brought nothing but excruciating pain to this organization.

If Jerry had not ran Jimmy off we would have like 15 or 16 Superbowl victories by this point.

The guy isn't a very good business man either.

2003, you lose in first round playoffs
2004, a losing year
2005 same, losing year, flat in December
2006 playoffs but lose
2007, same ole same ole, you lose in playoffs
2008, again you dont make the playoffs

Funny but true. I am a big Cowboy homer and i can’t find a reason to believe in next year. Sure it will probably change at some point but usually i would have come out of this funk by now. I try to read the happy homer posts but i am numb to them. Maybe i need to find my homer glasses, i must have lost them.

I made a post as to why there is hope, now here's why there is doom (IMO).

- We have an owner that loves attention, drama and distractions in Dallas and this is a team that has shown it cannot handle it. It also doesn't help that the media, particularly BSP...err, I mean ESPN will do what they can to help create distractions.

- We have a QB who has shown that he simply doesn't care too much to protect the ball.

- We have a QB that lost his accuracy and may not regain his old form.

- Greg Ellis is a distraction, but cutting him probably wouldn't be advisable for depth purposes.

- While I've stuck up for Owens, particularly with the Mr. Blue Suit hack job, he's a guy that draws a lot of drama and distractions to the team...even if in the Mr. Blue Suit case it's not his fault. Unfortunately, he's easily the best WR on the team and probably not cheap to cut.

- We do not draft and develop O-Linemen well.

- We do not draft and develop safeties very well.

- Canty could go elsewhere (although I'd like to see the team who will pay what he is asking for) and along with Tank going elsewhere, that could throw a monkey wrench into some depth problems.

How bout the fact that in their own backyard, we took the NFC Champion Cardinals to OT.

How bout the fact that in their own backyard, during a freaking snow storm, we had a 10 point lead on the World Champion Steelers with just minuets left to play.

How bout the fact that we had a lead against the AFC Championship runner-up Ravens and lost on back to back 75 yard runs.



Bottom Line........We lost all 3 games off fluke plays and should have won them all. These are 3 of the final 4 teams and the other team (Philly), we beat in week 2.

So dont tell me we cant play with the big boys and are not contenders. We are just as much contenders as anybody else in the NFC.

That is a direct comparsion between the Cowboys organization and the Steelers organization and the OP cleary states that the Steelers apparently know how to run a franchise and Dallas does not.

The OP never bothered to mention that the 2 most lop-sided officiated SB ever involved the Steelers winning, that doesnt have a bearing on anything.


So no, it is not pathetic to state the OP needs to go find a Steeler message board because he clearly feels that the Steelers are a much better operated franchise than Dallas, even though most on this board disagree because of the biased officiating they keep getting.


What is pathetic is you jumping a fellow poster who actually had the nads to point this out........I call like I see it and I think the OP needs to go buy one of those "championship terrible towels" so he can go celebrate with Pitt since they are such a better operated franchise than we are.

An overtime game never ended with a punt block before the Dallas game.....first time in NFL history.

No team had ever given up back-to-back runs of 75+ yards before the Dallas game......first time in NFL history.



I dont know about you, but if the plays had never happended before in the history of the NFL, I call those plays flukes, but maybe thats just me.
